With the recent killing of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, at the hands of police in Minneapolis we have seen riots all across America. I can’t watch it on TV anymore. While the riots are led by anarchists bent on destroying our country the anger of the people is real. Young people no longer respect or trust our police and this incident is confirmation for them. Our education system is to blame. When a civil society is threatened with chaos they get scared and go into survival mode. When the authorities get scared they then overreact harshly to quell the violence and save the country. A lot of people could end up dying. We could have nipped this in the bud early on but let it fester and spiral out of control. As soon as the mob saw weakness they pounced. It was an excuse for looting.
The policeman who killed Mr. Floyd is in jail charged with murder. What more do the people want? People have to realize that the police are 99.9 % good people and are here to protect us. There are a few bad apples in police departments around the country as there are in any large organization. We need to weed out but by no means is there systemic racism in our police departments or in our country. Racial equality is light years ahead of where it was in the sixties. Without the police around hoodlums would slaughter thousands upon thousands of innocent people and our society would crumble before our eyes. The current situation is reminiscent of the French Revolution in 1789 when angry peasants stormed the Bastille (French prison) and overthrew the monarchy. The king could have stopped the revolution early on but in his weakness he gave in to the mob.
With nobody in control of the country innocent Frenchmen were killed by the millions before a civil society was restored. Satan had a field day back then and seeks to recreate the same situation today in America. The question before us is are we going to allow Satan to unleash “evil in our time” on a scale not seen since the French Revolution? God is absolute truth and all Christians must latch onto this anchor to hold us firm in this turbulent world. Our morality and our ethics depend on the truth of a transcendent order. We must study God’s Word to learn spiritual truths. We must obey God. The Bible tells us evil days would come in the last days so we are not surprised by the current state of world affairs. Jesus also told us not to worry about anything because He is in control. Another sign that we are in the last days is when good is called evil and evil good.
Isaiah 5:20 – Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
John 8:32 – And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
A Father’s love (#9 and last)
God has revealed Himself to us by creation and by God’s Word, the Holy Bible. The greatest revelation of God was the coming of Jesus Christ from heaven to the earth to redeem mankind from their sins and restore the fellowship between God and man. God sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross in our place, for our sins. We know from Jewish and Roman historical records that Jesus lived and died as described in the Bible. We have eyewitness testimony that Jesus performed miracles while on earth. We have proof that Jesus died, was buried and on the third day rose from the dead. The divinity of Jesus was confirmed once and for all by His resurrection because only God can rise from the dead.
48. Luke 15:7 – (Jesus speaking) – I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
49. Ephesians 3:14-15 – For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.
50. John 1:12-13 – But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
51. Luke 15:4 – What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
In this blog series I have written out all 51 Scriptures listed in the well-worn “Father’s Love Letter”, in the order they are listed in the letter. If you ever feel lonely and unloved go back and read all 51 verses. You’ll realize that the Creator of the universe, Almighty God, created you with His own hands and you are His beloved possession. In God’s eyes you are His masterpiece and you are priceless. You’re a prince or princess of heaven and will one day return to heaven in glory to live with God. Rejoice and praise God! We’re to persevere on this earth in faith. We’re to witness for Christ and do good works until Jesus comes again to gather us to Himself.
A Father’s love (#8)
People who are spiritually blind lament, “Why doesn’t God make Himself known if He exists?” The Bible tells us God, the Bible and other things of God are foolishness to those who do not believe. Even if God appeared in the sky today and asked everyone to come to Him there would be many who would still reject God because they don’t want to change their lifestyle. Do you remember the Bible story of the conversation between Abraham in Paradise and Lazarus across the gulf in hell? Lazarus asked Abraham to warn his brothers about hell and Abraham said if the people did not believe Moses they would not believe him. I used to wonder why everyone in the world wasn’t a Christian when the truth is so obvious. While it’s true Satan has put blinders on unbelievers to hide the truth of God, it’s also true many people would reject the gospel of Christ even if they knew it was true.
45. Romans 8:32 – He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
46. 1 John 2:23 – Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
47. Romans 8:38-39 – For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A Father’s love (#7)
God has revealed Himself to us by the orderly universe He has created. Intelligent design is evident everywhere in the cosmos and in all of nature so that Scripture says man is without excuse as far as knowing whether or not God exists. God has revealed Himself to us through His Word, the Holy Bible. The Bible contains God’s wisdom and gives us God’s salvation plan for man. The Bible was written over a span of 1500 years by 40 different writers as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is without error and the unity of the entire Bible is unquestioned.

41. Hebrews 1:2-3 – God has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
42. Romans 8:31 – What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
43. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 – Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed us to the word of reconciliation.
44. 1 John 4:10 – In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
A Father’s love (#6)
The Bible says God’s eyes constantly roam the earth to ensure His Word is fulfilled. Scripture also says a bird doesn’t fall from the sky without God seeing it. God doesn’t sleep and God misses nothing. God has perfect knowledge and understanding of every situation. Once you become a believer God also takes up residence inside you to be your helper and guide in your daily walk with Him. It is this Holy Spirit that carries out the sanctification process whereby we are prepared for heaven. With God nothing is impossible and God will do all his pleasure.

A Father’s love (#5)
God loves us dearly. We will find our greatest joy and fulfillment in life when we love God, in return, with all our hearts. God made us that way. What’s not to love about God? By His mercy and grace God has given us all things pertaining to life and happiness. God has given us eternal life for the asking. God has stored up riches in heaven for us that we cannot begin to comprehend until we get there. In heaven God will show us wonders we cannot begin to imagine. As sons of God we will be royalty in heaven. God will shower us with honor and glory for eternity.

A Father’s love (#4)
The attributes of God define who He is. Our God is not only a God of love. God is joy, peace, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and longsuffering. God made us and put us on this earth to seek His face. No matter what Satan may whisper in your ear always remember that our God never stops loving us and never stops doing good for us. The only thing we can be absolutely sure of in this world is the love of God. In these turbulent end times only God is our rock, our fortress, our refuge against the evil of this world. Put your trust in God!

A Father’s love (#3)
As sinful human beings living in a fallen world we can’t love anywhere close to what God originally intended before the fall of man. Nor can we comprehend the magnitude of God’s love for us. Only when we get to heaven will we fully realize the depth of God’s love for us. If God could be described in one word it would be “love”. The Bible says clearly that “God is love”. The Bible doesn’t say God feels love. The Bible says God “IS” love. Let that profound statement sink in. We need to meditate often on God’s love for us which should, in turn, help us to keep our love for God alive and growing. The fear of the Lord should our goal and it should permeate every fiber of our being once we understand God’s abiding love for us.
14. John 8:42-43 – (Jesus speaking) – If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.
15. 1 John 4:16 – And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

17. Matthew 7:11 – (Jesus speaking) – If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
18. Matthew 5:48 – (Jesus speaking) – Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
19. James 1:17 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
20. Matthew 6:31-33 – (Jesus speaking) – Therefore do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we wear?” For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
A Father’s love (#2)
All Christians know they were created by a loving God. However, not every believer fully understands how intimately involved God is with man, his special creation. Whether you’re a sinner or a saint God is your constant companion all the days of your life. It’s hard for our finite minds to comprehend the fact that God can be everywhere at the same time while dealing with us as individuals with God’s total attention. God knows every fiber of your being and every thought you’ll ever have. God planned you in intimate detail before He laid the foundation of the world. The best part is that you are exactly how God planned you to be. Remember that God is perfect and God doesn’t make mistakes. You are precious in God’s sight and valuable beyond compare. You are God’s child. Never lose sight of the fact you are royalty in heaven and will judge the angels in heaven.
8. Ephesians 1:11 – In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.
9. Psalm 139:15-16 – My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. and in Your book they all were written.
10. Acts 17:26 – And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.
11. Psalm 139:14 – I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
12. Psalm 139:13 – For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
13. Psalm 71:6 – By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You.
A Father’s love (#1)
God has graciously revealed Himself to us through His Word, the Holy Bible. God’s Word is alive and God uses it to speak to us individually through Scripture. The Bible is God’s wisdom and it will stand forever. The Bible is also one long love letter from God to man, His special creation. There is a well known one page summary of God’s love letter to us that has been around for 20 years. It’s titled “Father’s Love Letter” and can be found at www.FathersLoveLetter.com. If there’s a love letter to me I don’t want to read a second-hand summary of it. I want to read the words penned by God Himself. I have taken the letter from the web site and removed everything except the very words of God as revealed in the Scriptures contained in the love letter. I will list them in the order they appear:
1. Psalm 139:1 – O LORD, You have searched me and know me.
2. Psalm 139:2 – You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off.
3. Psalm 139:3 – You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
4. Matthew 10:30 – (Jesus speaking) – But the very hairs of your head are numbered.
5. Genesis 1:27 – So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
6. Acts 17:28 – For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your poets have said, “For we are also His offspring.”
7. Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.
