Hiding in Plain Sight (#10 and last)

This ten-part blog series is about the revelation of God. God is always present in our world but he’s also hiding in plain sight. For believers who are spiritually aware seeing God in the world around us is easy. Satan can’t fool us. For nonbelievers, seeing God is much harder because Satan is the god of this world and he has blinded them to the truth of God. God is invisible so to prove he’s there believers need to be able to present facts and physical evidence that can only exist if there is a God. When believers witness for Christ they can present a series of events that defies all probability so that, in the end, we’re left with only one possible conclusion, which is that our God is the creator of all. So if God created man and put us on this earth what was the reason? I’ll tell you. God never does anything without a reason. God has given each of us our brief lifespan to make the free will decision to serve God or Satan. It’s the most important decision of our life, with eternal repercussions. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior God gifts us salvation unto eternal life in heaven in the presence of Jesus. If we reject God’s mercy and saving grace by choosing to serve Satan then we’ll reap the wrath of God, which results in eternal death in the lake of fire where we’ll be in constant pain and agony forever and ever.

2 Corinthians 4:4 – Whose minds the god of this age has blinded who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Philippians 2:9-10 – Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Proverbs 14:25 – A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

Our salvation is not the end of our walk with God, but the beginning. As disciples of Christ all believers are to present their bodies to God as their reasonable service to the God who made us. Believers are foot soldiers of Christ, commanded to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with the nonbeliever. Believers are commanded to do good works and witnessing for Christ is a good work. Witnessing for Christ is the number one good work, without which all other good works are meaningless. We know salvation unto eternal life is by faith alone and that any rewards we receive in heaven will be based on the actions we take during the life we live here on earth; primarily how effectively we witness for Jesus Christ. Whatever rewards we’re given in heaven will last for all eternity so it’s critically important we use our time here on earth wisely. You cannot witness for Christ effectively unless you intentionally plan to do it. You cannot effectively witness for Christ unless you prepare for it by knowing your God through prayer and then abiding in God’s Word through regular Bible reading and Bible study. You can’t do something well until you first learn how to do it properly. You can’t guide someone to salvation haphazardly. You need a plan, an outline in your head how you plan to proceed.

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile).

1 Corinthians 1:18 – For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

2 Corinthians 4:3 – But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

1 Corinthians 6:20 – For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Many verses of Scripture have been used to save people to the kingdom of God. I prefer to witness for Christ by using the tried and true path known as the, “Roman road”, which is a logical progression of thought in the Scriptures which will lead a nonbeliever to salvation. I prefer to start any witness of the gospel with John 3:16 because I’ve found people usually won’t listen to God until they know God loves them. Then I cover, in order, Romans 3:23 (all are sinners), Romans 6:23 (sins must be paid for), Romans 5:8 (Jesus paid our sin debt) and Romans 10:9 (accepting the gift of eternal life). Once you’ve presented the message of the gospel of Christ close the sale like any good salesman would; seek a commitment from them using the outline of the sinner’s prayer to God. If you’re unable to reap their soul for the kingdom of God, which is the most likely outcome, at least you’ll have spread the gospel seed as commanded by God. Keep in mind, it’s rare for someone to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior the first time they hear the gospel of Christ. It normally takes hearing the gospel message 15-20 times before someone gives their life to Christ. The amazing thing is that God is generous to a fault and he will equally reward believers who spread the gospel seed and those who bring in the harvest for the kingdom of God. Our God is great!

2 Corinthians 9:6 – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

2 Corinthians 5:20 – Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God was pleading through us: We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

1 Corinthians 3:9 – For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

The “proof of God” lists I’ve provided in this blog series are to be printed off, folded, and carried in your witness Bible as physical evidence of our God should a nonbeliever ask you to prove to him or her that God exists. Usually a nonbeliever doesn’t believe in God at all so the list of physical proofs of God is a good place to start. If they say they don’t believe the Bible is God’s word you have a list of proofs to refute that. If they don’t believe Jesus is God you have a list with ample proof to refute that too. If a nonbeliever doesn’t believe in miracles you have a list of some of God’s miracles performed in our lifetime. Your list of proofs of God by themselves probably won’t convince someone to choose God but they’ll give the nonbeliever pause; they’ll at least make him stop and listen. Nonbelievers will be saved primarily by your witness; your knowledge of God through his word and by your passion for Christ. Words can be faked but not your passion. Those who witness for Christ will be judged whether or not they are right by their love of God. Each believer needs to make it their intention to please God and that can only be accomplished by witnessing for Christ. As believers, when we stand before the bema judgment seat of Christ on the last day, our goal is to hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” That’ll only happen when we effectively witness for Christ by continually sowing the gospel seed of Jesus Christ until God calls us home or until Jesus comes for us in the air.

2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 4:14 – Knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and present us with you.

2 Corinthians 5:11 – Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

Ephesians 5:15-16 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Even when we know how to witness for Christ and are actively looking for people to witness to we’re lucky if we get to share the gospel message with two or three people a year. It’s just not enough! The key is we need to find a way to leverage our witness for Christ in order to reach more people through what I call “passive” witnessing. A religious television show or radio show are examples of passive witnessing for Christ. Christian book authors are passively witnessing for Christ through the pages of their books. My Christian blog site is my way of “passively” witnessing for the Lord. We can’t all witness for Christ using these venues. However, I’ve found another way that anyone can easily witness for Christ in a passive manner. Christian tracts are small cartoon booklets containing the gospel message and handing them out or funding their purchase will be accepted by God as passively witnessing for Christ.

Christian tracts are cheap at 18 cents apiece and they are an easy way to distribute the gospel message of Jesus Christ to people who otherwise can’t be reached any other way. Jack Chick invented Christian tracts over 75 years ago and after reading his life story it’s evident to me he had a passion for witnessing the gospel of Christ to nonbelievers. It’s also evident to me that the Holy Spirit was onboard with Jack Chick and helped him to develop this method of passively sharing the gospel message. Over one billion Chick tracts have been distributed throughout the world plus those of many competitors. Christian tracts in general have helped bring hundreds of thousands of people to salvation by sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ. You’d be wise to hand out Christian tracts because by doing so you’ll be obeying the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to witness the gospel message to all nations and all peoples. God will reward your obedience to his word.

The following are a few Scriptures where God reveals secrets not discovered by man until thousands of years later:
