Affirmations for wisdom & guidance

In the dictionary the word affirm is defined as, “to state something firmly and publicly.” The derivative word “affirmative” when used as an adjective means, “agreeing with a statement or to a request.” As a noun the word affirmative means, “a statement or word indicating agreement.” An affirmative is also an exclamation or a declaration. When we talk about Bible affirmations made by the believer we’re talking about a public declaration or exclamation like when you confessed Jesus with your mouth for your personal salvation. It’s public because God hears it and is glorified by your praise and worship. It’s public because the holy angels and the demons also hear you affirm the word of God. When you state the affirmation in a firm voice it means you believer it. You’re claiming the truth of God for yourself and the blessings that go along with it.

The spoken word matters to God. God “spoke” the world into existence and one day he’ll end it the same way. The Bible is God’s wisdom and we are meant to have God’s awesome power in our life when we use our mouth to verbally agree with God’s word in faith. Notice the definition of affirmative involves agreeing with God’s word. In Scripture God says we can have what we say as long as what we want agrees with the word of God and we activate the blessings of God that are contained in the Bible by declaring it in prayer to God. I’m not talking about praying for something once. I’m talking about praying for the blessings of God repeatedly, over and over, until you receive what you have asked for. God might answer your prayer immediately or God might wait twenty years to give you an answer. God is inscrutable and has his own timetable when dealing with his creation. As long as our prayers are biblical God will answer them because God has promised he will. God does not lie and God does not change. The truth of God’s word cannot be broken.
