When you verbally speak your spiritual affirmations before God in prayer you’re praising God with your lips, which the Bible says we’re to do at all times of the day. We’re to praise God continually in prayer because it honors God and glorifies his name. It’s important we acknowledge God before the heavenly host (angels) and the forces of darkness on earth (demons). Affirmations are merely a different kind of prayer we use to declare our alignment with God’s word. Affirmations are like a solemn oath to God. Think of it like you’re giving sworn testimony in a court of law where you have to put your hand on the Bible and swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Taking an oath before the Lord of Creation is a serious thing.
God has prepared great blessings for his children, not only in heaven but also here on earth. Here’s a secret about prayer. When you pray the Scriptures back to God you’re glorifying God so you can’t go wrong as long as you keep praying. God has to answer your prayers in order to fulfill his word. Of course God’s timetable may not be the same as yours. Why wouldn’t you want the blessings of God right now while you’re alive on earth? You don’t have to wait until you get to heaven. One thing I know; when believers get to heaven they’ll be amazed at the blessings God was prepared to give them on earth had they only asked for them continually in prayer. Pray to the Lord continually!
