When the Roman emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the empire in 313 AD the pagan temples in Rome became Christian houses of worship and the pagan priests simply adopted Christianity. They also incorporated some of their previous pagan traditions into the church such as holy water and, more importantly, goddess worship. The Roman Catholic church catechism declares that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is responsible for the salvation of mankind and not Jesus Christ. According to God’s Word, Mary never had anything to do with the salvation process. Scripture reveals that Jesus is the only one who can provide salvation.
Acts 4:12 – (referring to Jesus) – Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
John 14:6 – (Jesus speaking) – I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 10:9 – (Jesus speaking) – I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
Jesus is mentioned in just about every book of the Bible while Mary is only briefly mentioned and where Mary is mentioned she freely admits her need for the saving grace of the Lord. Anyone with half a brain who actually takes the time to read God’s Word can’t miss the fact that the Bible is Christ-centered. Christ is Christianity. Christianity means, “Christ’s men,” and not, “Mary’s men” or “the Pope’s men.” It is abundantly clear in Scripture that it’s faith in Jesus that saves our eternal soul and to believe otherwise is the ultimate sin and blasphemy before God and the wrath of God will abide on those who believe in such nonsense. The Catholic church has chosen to establish this unscriptural tradition of men which usurps the honor and glory of Jesus for His atoning death on the cross for our sins. Mary is weeping in heaven over this injustice.
Isaiah 43:11 – I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no Savior.
Hosea 13:4 – Yet I am the LORD thy God….there is no Savior besides Me.
John 4:42 – We have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.
Will you believe the clear teachings of the Word of God or will you believe the doctrines of men who have a vested interest in keeping people in spiritual bondage their whole lives? You’d better be right on this issue because your eternal destiny hangs in the balance. There’s a reason why the Catholic church doesn’t promote individual Bible study or stray far from selected Bible passages during their services. The church seeks to discourage members from reading their Bibles and discovering verses that clearly contradict the church’s traditions of men that are clearly unscriptural. The Catholic church doesn’t want members to question the tenets of the Catholic faith so they threaten them will eternal damnation if they stray from the traditions of the faith. That is the definition of spiritual bondage.
