Salutation to the Dawn:
Look to this day! For it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course lie all the verities and realities of your existence: The bliss of growth, the glory of action, the splendor of beauty, for yesterday is but a dream. And tomorrow is only a vision, but today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day! Such is the salutation to the dawn.
A New Day:
This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is very important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving something in its place I have traded for it. I want it to be a gain, not a loss, good and not evil, success and not failure, in order that I shall not forget the price I paid for it.
Every morning when I get up there are a million things I want to do with my time. When I weigh the benefits of each thing and the opportunity costs of each action I wind up at the same place. There is no better use of my time than passive witnessing for Christ through my Christian blog. Nothing is more important. There is nothing I do that will have a greater impact on the kingdom of God. I’m following through on the Great Commission in my own way. I’m retired so my time is short. Every day is precious to me and I can never get it back. Every day brings me closer to heaven yet I have so much left to do!
A Charge to Keep:
A charge to keep I have, a God to glorify. A never dying soul to save, and fit it for the sky to serve the present age. My calling to fulfill; O may it all my powers engage to do my Master’s will!
My Orders:
My orders are to fight; then if I bleed or fail, or strongly win, what matters it? God only doth prevail. The servant craveth naught except to serve with might. I was not told to win or lose, my orders are to fight.
