Universal Truths (#5)

5. Each person becomes an immortal being at conception.

Every person born of a woman has two birthdays, not one. We all tend to celebrate our own birthday based on the day our mothers gave birth to us. Congratulations to all the mothers out there in the world! God bless them. While our physical birthday is important to us it pales in significance to the date of our spiritual birthday, which happens at conception. Our spiritual birthday is when our existence actually begins. We receive our eternal spirit fully formed at conception. There’s no such thing as a baby spirit that grows into an adult spirit. The Bible confirms that it is God himself who is both our spiritual birth mother and father because God alone is our maker. At conception God gives a piece of himself to each person.

John 3:6 – (Jesus) – That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Galatians 4:19 – My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.

Isaiah 44:24 – Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by Myself.

1 Peter 1:23 – Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.

Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 – Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust (man) will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

God is an eternal invisible spirit so when God gives us a part of himself he is giving us a small sliver of his divine essence so that we receive an eternal spirit like God has. God has always existed and will never die, which means God is immortal. When God gives us an eternal spirit at conception it means from that moment onward we are immortal beings like God because we have God’s immortal essence inside of us. God doesn’t change his mind so we don’t have to worry about God taking back his immortality from us. Once God gives something he never takes it back because that would indicate God made a mistake and we know God is perfect and doesn’t make any mistakes.

1 Peter 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Romans 8:9 – But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 – Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Isaiah 57:16 – For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would fail before Me, and the souls which I have made.

Atheists don’t believe human beings have an eternal soul and our seventy short years of life is all there is. Atheists believe at death we lose consciousness and our existence simply ends. Atheists believe there is no such thing as right or wrong and people are free to do whatever they want without any need to feel guilty or any fear of being punished for their actions by a nonexistent God. Atheists feel secure in their own intelligence; they consider themselves wise. Atheists have made up their mind there’s no God without even giving God a chance. Oddly enough, atheists never attempt an in depth study of all the available facts about God to see if he is real or not. Atheists simply dismiss even the possibility of God and that stems from Satan blinding them to the truth of God.

2 Corinthians 4:4 – Whose minds the god of this age (Satan) has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Ephesians 2:1-2 – And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sin, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.

1 Corinthians 3:19 – For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness.”

Colossians 1:13 – He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

Zechariah 12:1 – The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel. Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.

Death is the great equalizer and the fear of all men. While Christian believers fear death like anyone else in their heart they know they’re immortal beings who are at peace with the God who made them. Believers approach death differently than do nonbelievers. Believers have what is called the, “peace of God”, because they know they’ll immediately go to heaven upon their death and into the presence of the Lord. Contrast that faith believers have in God with the nonbeliever (atheist) who is adamant there’s no God. Nonbelievers are confident when death is far away but when death approaches the false bravado of the nonbeliever flees from them. Their confidence and courage will wane, leaving only abject terror at the prospect of dying. That could all have been avoided if only the atheist had taken the time to look at the evidence for God right there in the Holy Bible. Nonbelievers dismiss the Bible as just a book and they walk by it all the days of their life. Nonbelievers have no excuse before God because the existence of God is self-evident.

John 14:6 – (Jesus speaking) – I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 11:25-26 – (Jesus speaking) – I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.

At the moment of their death the eternal spirit of the nonbeliever has to leave the corpse and immediately go somewhere. An eternal spirit leaving a dead person must go to one of two places, either to heaven or to hell. Believers go to heaven but for the nonbeliever, their eternal spirit will go straight to hell, where they’ll be in constant pain and torment while they wait for the final judgment from Jesus Christ on the last day. Those who go to hell will be resurrected bodily on the last day and thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity. As you can see our eternal destiny is too important an issue to be left to chance. If you’re a nonbeliever now don’t be so smug; be sure you’re right. Evaluate the truth of God contained in the Bible now to ease your mind. The proof of God will bear up under scrutiny. You’d be wise to heed my words while there’s still time for you to find salvation unto eternal life in heaven.

Hebrews 9:27 – And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.

2 Corinthians 5:6 – So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.

Matthew 10:28 – (Jesus speaking) – And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

2 Corinthians 5:1 – For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Hebrews 12:9 – Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

Satan is the god of this world and throughout human history he has sponsored numerous fake religions and false gods to hide the truth of God from man. Satan has done a very good job of fooling man because most people don’t believe in the Lord, the one true God of creation. The only possible path to salvation unto eternal life in heaven is through belief in the Lord God and acceptance of his son Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Admittedly, all these other believers in religious cults like Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism also think their religion is the true religion and that their god is the right one. All religions claim their god is true and all others gods are false. Since all religions are mutually exclusive it means only one can be true or they’re all false. Common sense should tell us that there aren’t multiple gods or more than one way to heaven. When we look for evidence of God we find the only real proof of God belongs to the Christian God. To prove he is God the Lord has provided us with creation, his personal testimony (the Bible), and his son Jesus Christ; through whom we live and through whom we’re saved unto eternal life in heaven.

Colossians 1:16 – For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Daniel 12:2-3 – And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

Genesis 2:7 – And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

1 Corinthians 15:54-55 – So when this corruption has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

Psalm 8:4-6 – What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.

All men have the stain of sin in their body and in their soul. The wages of sin is death. To redeem us from eternal death a just God required the blood sacrifice of a sinless man. Since there was no man on earth without sin God had to set aside his crown in heaven and lower himself by coming to earth as the incarnate Jesus Christ. To qualify as our Savior Jesus had to be human in every way, including how he was conceived and how he was born. Jesus was 100% human and 100% God without mixing the two natures. When the angel Gabriel informed Mary she was to be the mother of Jesus Mary asked, “How can this be since I know no man?” Gabriel responded to Mary, “The Holy Spirit will overshadow you.” That means the Holy Spirit is actually the father of Jesus because he provided the X-chromosomes, normally provided by a male donor, that were necessary to fertilize Mary’s egg and create a new human being.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 1:7 – In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Romans 5:9 – Much more then, having been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Hebrews 2:17 – Therefore in all things He (Jesus) had to be made like His brethren (human beings), that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Revelation 4:11 – (Jesus speaking) – Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown (eternal life in heaven).

The Holy Spirit had to give the human Jesus his eternal spirit at his conception the same way it happens for all of us. There was no human father for Jesus and the Holy Spirit never made a follow up visit to Mary or the Bible would have said so. This tells me Jesus received his conception and eternal spirit at the same time. To qualify as being fully man Jesus had to get his eternal spirit the same way we do. To put it another way, because Jesus received his eternal spirit at conception it proves we do to. Another example is John the Baptist. He was another miracle birth orchestrated by God. As the forerunner of Christ, the baby John was filled with the Holy Spirit while still in the womb. You can’t have the indwelt Holy Spirit in a person before they receive their eternal spirit provided by God. You can’t put the cart before the horse; which means the eternal spirit of John the Baptist must also have been given to him at conception. The Holy Spirit indwelt both Jesus and John from conception.

Job 1:21 – Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there (back to God). The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

Galatians 4:4-5 – But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Ephesians 1:13 – In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

John 6:40 – (Jesus speaking) – And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Matthew 1:18 – Now the birth of Jesus was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

This means that an unborn child who is aborted naturally or by medical means loses his physical life but their eternal life will live on in the presence of Jesus in heaven. The Bible confirms that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Does this lost baby remain a child in heaven? Do they become adults in heaven? We know the eternal spirit comes fully formed. Will the resurrected bodies of unborn babies look like the adults they would have become had they lived? I don’t know, but God knows. We’ll find out once we get to heaven. Abortion rights is an emotionally charged topic in this country with many passionate believers on both sides of the issue. I know the killing of an unborn child is wrong, not only because the Bible tells me so but also because I feel the sin in my soul. Instead of seeing things how you want them to be go read your Bible and see what God has to say about taking a priceless innocent life that he has made. You have no excuse.

2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

John 5:24 – (Jesus speaking) – Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

John 5:28-29 – (Jesus speaking) – For the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth – those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of the damned.

Matthew 16:27 – (Jesus speaking) – For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

Luke 1:31, 34-35 – And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is born will be called the Son of God.”

The truth is always the truth whether you agree with it or not. As a believer I’m obligated to share the truth of God no matter what the political backlash is. We have to speak truth to power and not give in to political correctness run amok. I believe the inerrant Bible is the truth of God. One of God’s commandments is you shall not kill and Scripture reveals to us that physical life and spiritual life begin at conception. Not only life, but eternal life! From Scripture we know that at conception a person becomes a living human being both physically and spiritually and therefore abortion is murder, infanticide, and the legalized killing of a helpless child so their body parts can be harvested and sold to the highest bidder like cattle. Destroying a human being that God has made is a sin before God and he commands us not to do it. There’s no way to sugar-coat it what I have to say. There is no justification before God for the killing of an innocent unborn child. It’s not just me saying it, but the Lord, who is the righteous God who will judge us all on the last day for our sins. The Bible says there’s a special place in hell for those who harm children.

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

John 3:36 – (Jesus speaking) – He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

1 John 5:13 – These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Nehemiah 9:6 – You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

Luke 1:15 – For he (John the Baptist) will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

Universal Truths (#4)

4. Each person has been given enough faith to be saved by God.

Before he laid the foundation of the world God knew each believer beforehand and he carefully planned good works for them to do. Most believers will complete very few of the good works God has planned for them to do. God knows this. God is not a one trick pony. God is unfathomable and multiple in all things. If there’s a good work God has planned for us and we don’t do it God has someone else lined up and ready to take our place. Failing to do what God has planned for us to do means we’ll lose the blessing or reward tied to that good work and it’ll go to someone else who was more obedient to God. We see an example of this spiritual truth played out in the book of Ester. God placed the Jewish girl Ester as the wife of King Ahasuerus of Persia so she could save her people from the evil plot of Haman to destroy all Jews. Ester’s uncle Mordecai told Ester that God made her queen so that she could save her people and if she refused to do it then God would raise up another deliverer and she would perish.

Ester 4:13-14 – And Mordecai told them to answer Ester: Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Ecclesiastes – He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

Don’t be discouraged. Just run the individual race God has given you with perseverance while continuing to do all the good works you possibly can. We’re all sinners, we all have a sin nature and we’re all living in a fallen and cursed world. We can do nothing for God until he first saves us and then to accomplish anything after that we must be in obedience to God’s word and work through the power of the indwelt Holy Spirit. When believers stand before the bema judgment seat of Jesus Christ on the last day to receive their rewards for good works done in the body Jesus will indeed let them know the good works they have done. But believers will also be made aware of the good works that God had planned for them that they failed to do, and the rewards they missed out on due to their disobedience.

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Hebrews 6:10 – For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Matthew 28:19 – (Jesus speaking) – Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

God has never planned any good works for the nonbeliever because what’s the point? The number one good work the believer can do for God is to witness the gospel of Christ to nonbelievers. In addition to witnessing the gospel message of Christ to all nonbelievers we Christians are also commanded to do other good works such as helping the poor and the needy. If the believer isn’t first fulfilling the Great Commission that Jesus gave his disciples, which is to share the gospel message of Christ , then all other good works are meaningless to God. Other good works are just icing on the cake but witnessing is the important thing; witnessing is the cake. Without the cake the icing is useless so it gets thrown in the trash.

Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Proverbs 14:25 – A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

Acts 10:42 – And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead.

Titus 2:15 – Speak these things (the gospel), exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

Nonbelievers, on the other hand, have no good works planned for them because they are not saved unto eternal life by God’s grace. Those who don’t know God certainly can’t witness about something they know nothing about. God is efficient with no wasted motion. God doesn’t waste his time on things that are meaningless. I’m not saying that nonbelievers can’t do good works in this world; they can. I’m just saying anything good done in this world by nonbelievers has no impact on their eternal destination because they will be condemned by God on the last day if they aren’t saved and they cannot do the main thing, which is to witness for Christ. If you’re not a believer you have no personal testimony to give because you don’t know God. Other good works will not be credited to anyone’s account if they don’t first witness the gospel of Christ. You cannot please God if you don’t share Jesus Christ with nonbelievers at every opportunity.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 – For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Colossians 3:25 – But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.

Titus 3:8 – This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

2 Corinthians 5:20 – Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God was pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Nonbelievers will one day have to stand before the Great White throne for judgment by Jesus Christ while still abiding in their sins, no matter how much they help the poor and needy. We can’t buy our way into heaven; we can only get there through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ will dispense justice fairly to everyone which means he will condemn nonbelievers to the lake of fire forever for their sins. You must understand that God is good but also just. God didn’t make any man with the knowledge and intent of sending them to hell. By his foreknowledge God knew who would accept his saving grace and who wouldn’t. Always remember that God is good, God is great and God is fair to every creature he has made. Every man on earth has equal opportunity to find God, know God and accept God’s salvation unto eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

1 Corinthians 1:9 – God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 – He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

Psalm 37:3 – Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

John 4:36 – (Jesus speaking) – And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

I once thought I had an unfair advantage over someone living Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, etc., because I lived in the United States and hearing the gospel message of Christ happens easily and often in a Christian country. I thought I stood a much better chance of being saved than the people of those other countries and I felt sorry for their loss. I saw things only from a human perspective and not how God sees things. The Lord is a God of justice so he made every person with the same small amount of faith on the inside of them so that anyone can find salvation unto eternal life if they sincerely want salvation and ask God for it. There’s no such thing as a person who really wants to be saved but they can’t achieve it. It says in the Bible in Romans 10:13, that we can be saved unto eternal life if we ask it of God. We all have enough faith within us to be saved, no matter how small that faith is, because God made us all with the capacity to be able to accept his saving grace. It’s all part of God’s salvation plan for man.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Romans 5:1-2 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 9:6 – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

The dictionary defines faith as, “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.” For the believer that means complete trust in Jesus and complete confidence that we are saved unto eternal life and will one day be in heaven with the Lord. Nothing compares to our faith in God. It gives us peace with God and the peace of God. There’s a great example in the gospel of Luke of the spiritual truth that it takes only a small amount of faith to be saved. In Luke 23:42-43, Jesus grants salvation to someone who has what I’d say is only a small amount of faith. One of the two thieves that were condemned and crucified on the cross alongside Jesus spoke to the Lord only once. The thief addressed Jesus as Lord and then he asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his kingdom. Based on that one brief statement alone Jesus saved the thief then and there and told him he’d be with the Lord in Paradise that day.

Luke 23:42-43 – The he (the thief on the cross) said to Jesus. “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Matthew 22:14 – (Jesus speaking) – For many are called, but few are chosen.

Hebrew 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Romans 11:29 – For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

God calls all men to salvation but few are chosen. Ultimately the Lord alone decides who he will save through the Holy Spirit, what criteria he will use to save them and what amount of faith is needed for their salvation; even among nations and peoples that are unfamiliar with Christianity. It’s not for us to judge the actions of God or the salvation plan that God has in place for man. While it’s true that some Christians will continue to grow their faith as they walk humbly with God, there are many other Christians, in fact most Christians, that never seem to grow the small amount of faith that God has given to all men. Either way, God saves anyone who asks him, whether their faith is large or small.

Romans 10:13 – For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 8:30 – Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called, these He also justified, these He also glorified.

2 Thessalonians 2:14 – To which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 6:39 – (Jesus speaking) – Can the blind (nonbelievers) lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?

I’m sure when the Apostle Paul first met Jesus Christ on the Damascus road he was saved into eternal life by his great faith in the Lord. Seeing the resurrected Christ will do that for you. On the other hand, when an innocent eight year old child stands before the church congregation and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior his or her faith is small yet God saves them too. God cannot lie. God is ever faithful to fulfill his word and save you if you cry out to him no matter whether your faith is large or small; no matter whether you are young or old. God loves us all and his net is wide so that he can harvest as many souls as possible for the kingdom of God. Praise God for his love, mercy and grace!

Romans 4:5 – But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.

John 3:36 – (Jesus speaking) – He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

1 John 2:25 – And this is the promise that He has promised us – eternal life.

Romans 3:28 – Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

If anyone recognizes their sinful state before God and asks for God to forgive them of their sins and save them then Scripture says God will do it. The Bible doesn’t say God might save you if you ask him to forgive you of your sins; the Bible says God will save you if you ask him. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it; no qualifiers whatsoever. The Scriptures don’t say God will check your level of faith first and if it’s great enough then God will save you. God makes a promise to forgive you of your sins and save you, period. No questions asked. If you have enough faith to ask for God’s grace you can be sure your sins are forgiven. Always keep in mind that God loves us dearly and he wants us to be in heaven with him forever.

2 Timothy 4:1-2 – I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

John 3:18 – (Jesus speaking) – He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Daniel 12:2-3 – And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

John 3:27 – A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

God is for us and his goal is for all of us to be in heaven with him for eternity. God is inclusive which is why God made his salvation plan so easy for us to understand. God is doing his best to get us into heaven, not keep us out. All we have to do is turn from our sin and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and we can be certain we’re going to heaven. We have God’s solemn promise! Salvation appears so easy some people might think it’s a trick, that their must be a catch. I can tell you there’s no catch; salvation really is that easy. The only caveat is that man must make the free will decision to serve God while they yet live. A person choosing to serve Satan will go to hell forever. Not deciding whom to serve is a default selection for Satan also resulting in eternal damnation.

2 Corinthians 5:11 – Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

Hebrews 10:31 – It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Matthew 10:28 – (Jesus speaking) – And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Universal Truths (#3)

3. Satan is revealed by man’s evil.

I don’t think anyone will disagree with the statement that evil not only exists in the world it’s rampant and getting worse every day. The disagreement comes when we try to decide where evil comes from. Humanists (nonbelievers) have declared that man himself is a god with virtues that will continue to evolve over time so that the earth will eventually become a utopian paradise. Humanists dare not blame man for the evil in the world, or Satan for that matter, because it would destroy the entire belief system they have constructed to deny the existence of God. Just as an invisible God is revealed by the existence of physical man, an invisible Satan is revealed by the actions of physical man, which are evil. We may not be able to see evil spirits but we can know they exist by the path of destruction, sin and evil they leave behind. God and Satan are a matched pair, one good and one evil, on opposite sides of the spiritual spectrum. On earth you can’t have good without evil because Satan is still currently the god of this world. You can’t have God without Satan until God chains Satan in the bottomless pit on the last day. If we’ve already proven that God is real then we know for certain that Satan also has to be real, and vice versa.

Luke 10:18 – (Jesus speaking) – I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Ephesians 4:26-27 – Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

Isaiah 14:12-14 – How you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the most high.

We know Satan means “adversary.” Satan is the adversary of both God and man. Who exactly is Satan? We know Satan was known in heaven as Lucifer when he was the most powerful angel that God ever created. Satan became enamored of his power and beauty and in his pride and arrogance he thought that he should be God so he led a third of the angels of heaven in a revolt against God. When God defeated Satan and the rest of his fallen angels they were thrown to earth where we know them as demons. Since fallen angels (demons) are eternal spirit beings that can no longer live in heaven due to their sin God created the lake of fire and brimstone as an eternal resting place for them on the day of judgment. The lake of fire was created for Satan and his fallen angels but it will also serve as the final resting place of all men who reject God’s saving grace. Those who fail to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will face the wrath of God on the last day. After the resurrection of nonbelievers on the last day those who have rejected God’s grace will be grabbed bodily by an angel of God and thrown into the lake of fire where they will be in pain and agony for all eternity.

Revelation 12:9 – So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Romans 16:20 – And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Luke 22:31 – And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.

Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Matthew 7:17-18 – (Jesus speaking) – Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

Revelation 20:15 – And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

When God created Adam and Eve the earth was without sin and God gave the earth to Adam as his inheritance. Satan beguiled Adam and Eve causing them to sin against God. God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden because of their sin and then God took away their immortality. Satan gained title to the earth from Adam and he became the god of this world. Satan introduced sin and evil into the world and as long as the world continues to experience the sin and the evil that men do we can be sure that Satan is real and still with us on this earth. When Scripture says the fallen angels were thrown to the earth that means God incarcerated them here on earth with us until the last day. Scripture also says you will know both God and man by their fruit and the same holds true for Satan. We may not be able to see an invisible Satan or his fellow demons but we can sure track his handiwork (fruit) in this fallen world. There are literally millions of demons roaming the earth bent on our destruction so we need to be aware of it and seek the Lord’s protection.

Matthew 7:19-20 – Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Hebrews 2:14 – In as much as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.

1 John 3:8 – He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Matthew 4:1 – Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Matthew 4:10 – (Jesus speaking) – Away with you Satan! For it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.

Humanists don’t want people believing in God so they say the Bible isn’t really talking about a real person when it mentions Satan or the devil. They claim that Satan was only meant to be an allegory or a spiritualization that described man’s life on earth. That doesn’t hold water when we examine the Bible. God’s word is meant to be interpreted literally except in those few instances where figures of speech are obvious or explained in Scripture. The rule of thumb with Scripture interpretation is if it makes plain sense then seek no other sense. Once you start spiritualizing the verses of the Bible then the reader can make the Bible say whatever the reader wants it to say instead of the truth of God. This is the ultimate goal of the humanists. People who alter or distort the meaning of what God says in his word will face the wrath of God on the last day.

Revelation 22:18-19 – For I testify to everyone who hears the word of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

When humanists try to distort God’s word for their own purposes they risk the wrath of God as stipulated in the above verses from the book of Revelation. We’d all be wise to interpret the Bible literally and avoid making that mistake before an angry God. In Ezekiel 28:12-19, God gives us a lengthy discussion of the origin and fall of the devil. God is obviously talking about a real person. In Job 1:6-12 and Job 2:1-7, God is conversing with Satan at length about his servant Job. You can only have a conversation with a real person. We know that in the gospel of Matthew, verses 4:1-10, the Scriptures are describing Satan tempting Jesus three times in the wilderness. In each instance Jesus was dealing with a real person when he rebuffed Satan’s temptations by quoting Scripture. Quoting the Bible is a good example for all us to follow when Satan tempts us, because he will. This story is also recorded in the gospel of Luke, verses 4:1-12. That can only happen when you have real people conversing back and forth; Jesus and Satan in this instance. In the Bible Satan entered Judas and the antichrist which proves Satan is a real person and not an allegory or spiritualization of the Bible. The Bible is the proven truth of God that is without error so when the Bible addresses Satan as a person it’s a fact that no one can dispute.

1 John 5:19 – We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

Matthew 16:23 – (Jesus speaking to Peter) – Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.

Luke 22:3 – Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve.

James 4:7 – Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Matthew 12:33 – (Jesus speaking) – Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.

The devil is mentioned in seven Old Testament books; Genesis, Job, 1 Chronicles, Psalm, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Zechariah. Satan is found in nineteen New Testament books, and is referred to by every New Testament writer. Satan is mentioned 55 times in the Bible and referred to as the devil 61 times. Satan is mentioned so may times in the Bible that his existence cannot be simply explained away by nonbelievers as a spiritualization or an allegory. God speaks plainly in his word and he speaks literally so we know for certain that Satan exists and does evil in the world. So in the Bible we have Satan mentioned a total of 116 times, not counting when Satan is called by one of his many other names such as the evil one, the wicked one, the son of perdition, etc. God desires above all else to be believed in. Satan on the other hand, tries his best to be underestimated, ignored or denied so that he can work his evil on the world unnoticed and unopposed. In his hatred Satan seeks to destroy man at every opportunity. God loves us and seeks to save us at every opportunity. The gulf between God and Satan couldn’t be any wider. The contrast between God and Satan couldn’t be any clearer. If you want to maintain fellowship with God then avoid sin and evil and abide in God’s word. Love what God loves and hate what God hates. God really hates Satan and so should we!

John 15:16 – (Jesus speaking) – You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

Universal Truths (#2)

2. The “Lord” is the name of the one true God.

In my previous blog we settled, once and for all, the question of whether or not God exists. We’ve presented irrefutable facts that prove God does indeed exist. The question then becomes who is this one God who made everything? What is his name? Throughout history there have been many religions established that all claim that only their god or gods are true and all other gods are false. All religions are therefore mutually exclusive which means only one religion can be true; or they are all false. How is a rational person to decide which God is correct? When we look for evidence of God we find it only when we examine the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The true God of Christianity also happens to be the God of Judaism. The difference being Judaism doesn’t recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Son of God. Part of the process of proving that God exists in the first place, our “proofs” of God, is intertwined with God’s name as revealed in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.

1 Chronicles 16:29 – Give to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Exodus 6:2-3 – And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Lord I was not known to them.

Genesis 4:26 – And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.

God is known by many names, mostly associated with his many wonderful attributes. You are what you do and what you continually think about. A person’s name is very important to them and it’s the same with God. In his word God declares his name to be “Lord” so that’s what we should call him when we access the throne room of heaven in prayer. God chose the Hebrews as his chosen people. The Hebrew language contains only consonants (no vowels) and the speaker provided the vowels when they spoke. The Hebrews call God by the name of YHWH, which is pronounced “Yahweh.” The Bible was first translated from Hebrew into Greek and Yahweh became Jeshua. The Bible was later translated into English where the name for God was translated as Jehovah.

Nehemiah 9:6 – You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

Psalm 18:30-31 – As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust Him. For who is God except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?

Revelation 19:16 – And He (Jesus) has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords.

Since the early 1500’s Christians have commonly referred to God as Jehovah. In the Scriptures God declares his name to be “Lord” and that’s the name I suggest we use, unless you happen to be Jewish. I don’t recall anywhere in the Bible where God declares his name is Yahweh, Yeshua or Jehovah. When you speak to God remember who you’re talking to and address God using the formal name he prefers (Lord); or you can call him Master, God, King or Father. In the dictionary lord is defined as master or ruler. When we capitalize the word Lord we are then referring to the divine master and ruler of the universe; which is God. The word Lord defines both who God is (our master) and what God does (ruler over us). I’d say the Lord’s name fits him perfectly so use it when you come before the throne of grace as a sign of honor, respect and reverence. We express our proper “fear” of the Lord when we use his holy name before the throne of heaven. Once you have observed the proper heavenly prayer protocol and given God the glory due his name; then you can approach God and present your petition. Always close prayer by giving thanks to God in Jesus’ name.

James 5:14 – Is anyone among you sick? Let him call the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Colossians 3:17 – And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Philippians 2:9-11 – Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on the earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

God wouldn’t have created the universe unless he had a good reason. God wouldn’t have made man, his masterpiece of creation, and placed us on this earth without a good reason. God wouldn’t have made everything we see unless he intended to be intimately involved in every aspect of his creation by revealing himself to man and telling us why we’re here. A God who created all we see would, above all else, desire that man fully believes in him and knows his name. Only the Lord our God has given us his word, our Holy Bible, which will answer all these questions. Critics have been trying to find fault with the Bible for 2000 years and have yet to find any errors in it. The Bible is one third prophecy and over 500 of the over 1000 prophecies in it have been fulfilled and documented as fact. The Bible is the truth of God and the wisdom of God.

Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Isaiah 43:11 – I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.

Isaiah 43:15 – I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.

Ephesians 5:20 – Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

All of the other fake religions and false gods throughout human history have not produced even a single fulfilled prophecy. They were all sponsored by Satan to hide the truth of God from man. One way you can be sure you’re dealing with God is if he can fulfill prophecy because only the true God is the author of history. Only God knows the end from the beginning. Another way you can be sure of the identity of God is if he can bring someone back to life, which is something only God can do and which God documented several times in the Holy Bible because God is the author of life. The Hebrews identified their God as someone who could walk on water and calm the raging storm. Jesus did both od those things on the Sea of Galilee as further proof to the Hebrews, and the us Gentiles, that he is indeed God in the flesh. Of the four main world religions only the Lord God of the Christian faith has proven that he is God. Only our Lord has fulfilled prophecy, raised the dead, controlled nature and walked on water. What more proof do we need to identify God?

Isaiah 1:18 – Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Romans 10:13 – For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Isaiah 42:8 – I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another.

Psalm 29:2 – Give unto the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

I previously posted an eleven part blog series on fake religions and false gods back in May and June of 2021 (see my archives). I’ll just repeat the high points here. Christianity is the world’s largest religion with over 2.5 billion followers. Jesus Christ is the head of our church, which was founded in 33AD, and the Bible is our holy book written by God himself. The tomb of Christ is empty for he is risen and he sits at the right hand of God in heaven. Islam is the world’s second largest religion with over two billion followers. Islam was founded in 622 AD by the prophet Mohammed who claimed that god was named Allah, which is a name he borrowed from the moon god of one of the old desert tribes of the Arabian peninsula. Mohammed wrote the Quran, the holy book of the Muslim faith. Mohammed is buried in a grave somewhere. Both Jesus Christ and Mohammed claim to be prophets of their respective faiths. Only one God can be true so let’s look at the evidence and decide for ourselves who is the true God of heaven and earth.

Psalm 19:7 – The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Matthew 22:37 – (Jesus speaking) – You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Jesus Christ fulfilled over sixty prophecies in the Bible about the coming of the Messiah, the Son of God, and we have eyewitness testimonies from those who actually knew Jesus in addition to the witnesses of many millions of people who have testified that a personal relationship with Jesus has changed their lives for the better. In Allah, on the other hand, we have no fulfilled prophecies and no personal testimonies other than from the prophet Mohammed, who established the Muslim faith and had a vested interest in maintaining the narrative of the religion he created. I know of no one who has claimed that they know Allah personally or that he has changed their lives in any way. In the Bible we have the obvious wisdom of God and in the Quran we have a book of contradictions and half-truths. The Quran is just an unsuccessful attempt by Satan to mimic the word of God in order to fool man. Based on all the evidence, we have proven that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and that Allah is nothing more than a false god from a fake religion sponsored by Satan to divert man from the truth of God and salvation unto eternal life in heaven that God has prepared for man.

Malachi 3:6 – For I am the Lord, I do not change.

Isaiah 45:5 – I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me.

Hosea 13:4 – Yet I am the Lord your God…there is no Savior besides Me.

To be fair, there are two other major world religions we should mention. Hinduism is the third largest world religion with over 1.3 billion followers, primarily in India. Hinduism is not technically a religion; it’s really just modern day paganism. Hindus worship a thousand different gods and everyone is free to choose which gods they worship. Hindus are free to worship one god, many gods or no god at all. Hindus worship idols of their chosen deities in their temples and also in shrines they set up at home. Hindus have no doctrinal authority in which to turn to and they all expect that their soul will somehow evolve into a perfect state of being on its own. Common sense should tell us there can’t be thousands of gods and man cannot evolve into anything good on his own. Look around. A perverse and evil world should tell us this narrative is false.

Deuteronomy 7:9 – Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:6 – So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.

Buddhism is the fourth largest world religion with over 500 million followers. Buddhism is an Indian religion started by Guatama Buddha around 500 BC. Buddha is not in heaven; he is buried in a grave somewhere. Buddhism is technically not a religion either because Buddhists don’t believe in a supreme being we refer to as God. You could say Buddhists worship man as their god because they glorify themselves as the way to heaven. In the Buddhist system of faith each individual is to attain enlightenment on their own, which will result in their achieving eternal bliss. Buddhism is similar to Hinduism in that regard. So when we consider the name of God we will start with the Lord with over 500 fulfilled prophecies and millions of personal testimonies. Next we have the choice of the Buddhist religion which names no god at all and Hinduism which has thousands of unnamed gods.

Finally, we have the Muslim god Allah, who was once the moon god from one of the minor desert tribes who Mohammed resurrected as the one true god of Islam. I guess they didn’t have enough names to go around. Allah has no personal testimony other than the founder of Islam, which we can discount because Mohammed had a vested interest in promoting the religion he created. Mohammed cannot provide an impartial testimony to prove his god is the true god. We must look elsewhere. The god Allah from the Quran, the flawed Muslim holy book, doesn’t have a single fulfilled prophecy or shred of evidence to prove that he is god. Islam says Allah is an aloof god who does not contend with man, which is a convenient way of not having to provide any proof that Allah is god. Mohammed did this as a way of preventing anyone from ever questioning the god he created, under penalty of death. Under Islam Allah can never be questioned therefore he can never be proven false. When something is the truth you have no need to hide it. You only want to hide something if it’s false and you don’t want anyone to find out about it. That sums up Islam.

Isaiah 46:9-10 – Remember the former things of old, for I am God and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.

Does it sound reasonable to you that a god would go to all the trouble to create the universe and man and then have nothing at all to do with what he created? That just doesn’t sound logical or truthful to me. According to Islam every man in heaven gets 72 virgins to pleasure him. Where do the all women come from? Women on earth don’t outnumber men by a factor of 72. This sounds more like the sexual fantasy of a man and not something from god. How can you have a loving relationship with someone when you have 72 partners? That sounds to me like nothing more than sinful sex to me. I’m assuming Muslim women get to go to heaven. What do the women get who go to the heaven of Islam? Are they still the chattel of men there like they are here on earth? Do the women in the heaven of Islam receive reciprocal treatment in kind, and if so, where do all the men come from? It sounds as though there are a lot of slaves in the heaven of Islam.

What woman in their right mind would want to sleep with 72 men? They would need to be put on life support and the same goes for the men. I’ve been married for almost fifty years and it’s all I can do to keep up with one woman and try to keep her happy. The thought of having to please 72 women would terrify me. It’s my idea of hell not heaven! I don’t mean to be disrespectful of any religion but as a disciple of Jesus Christ I am commanded by God to speak the truth of God and to share my witness with all nonbelievers. Being politically correct is not an option because it’s merely a device of the devil to shout down the truth of God and prevent the spread of the truth of God to the nonbeliever. I’m not offended by those of a different faith who want to defend their beliefs and in return I expect the same courtesy. We should all be able to discuss our beliefs openly and then agree to disagree with one another in a respectful manner. In Scripture the Lord says to come check him out and learn that he is God. With all these fake religions and false gods being discredited in this blog it should be evident by now that the only true God is the Lord God of Christianity.

2 Corinthians 5:11 – Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

1 Peter 1:25 – But the word of the Lord endures forever.

Philippians 4:4 – Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, rejoice!

Universal Truths (#1)

1. God is revealed by man’s existence.

Man is the image of God because we have an eternal spirit just like God does. God gave us our eternal spirit at conception. The fact that we exist proves there is a God in heaven. Those who say God doesn’t exist are called fools by God because the truth of God is all around us and self-evident for those who look with a discerning eye. What exactly is “truth.” The definition of truth is that which can be proven by actual facts. The definition of universal is that which is applicable to all cases. It’s a universal truth that since human beings exist then so does God. Scientists know of over 200 precise parameters, or conditions, that have to be present in our physical world in order for human life to exist on earth. The odds of all those things happening at the same time and all on their own are zero. That means God had to be involved. Man is not an accident of nature. Man didn’t just evolve. Man was created by the hands of Almighty God and put here on purpose.

Genesis 1:26-27 – Then God said, “Let Us make man in our image, according to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his Own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Nehemiah 9:6 – You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

1 Corinthians 8:6 – Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we are all things, and through whom we live.

Psalm 19:7 – The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

Romans 12:1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

The Holy Bible is the inerrant word of God and for 2000 years critics have tried and failed to find any errors in it. The book of Genesis says that God created man and God’s word is truth. The truth is always the truth even when it’s not recognized as such by nonbelievers. It’s self-evident that God created the universe and man, which is why the Bible says when nonbelievers stand in judgment before Jesus Christ on the last day they will have no excuse for not believing in God. The proof of God is right before our eyes if we would only look, see and understand. The Bible says man is God’s masterpiece of creation which means the earth was created to be our home and the universe as our playground. God didn’t make man as an afterthought of creation. Man was the reason God created the universe. God made everything we see for us.

Psalm 95:6 – Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Romans 1:20 – For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

Psalm 19:1 – The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.

Psalm 8:3-4 – When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?

Zechariah 12:1 – The Lord who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.

Human beings are comprised of many complex body systems, organs and tissues totaling over 30 trillion individual cells. The human brain is the greatest computer in the universe yet our brain is only working at 10% capacity. Imagine what we’ll be able to accomplish when Jesus restores our brain to 100% of its capacity at his Second Coming. We still haven’t even figured out how our brain works. Our brain is the nexus between the physical world and the spiritual world. For years humanists have used the education system to force the theory of evolution down our throats to the point where most people believe the great lie.

Hosea 13:4 – Yet I am the Lord your God…there is no Savior besides Me.

Romans 11:36 – For of Him (God) and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Isaiah 45:22 – Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.

It just goes to show you if you repeat a lie long enough the human brain will eventually accept it as the truth. Madison Avenue knows this. That’s why mass advertisers keep bombarding us with the same commercials over and over. Humanists tout the theory of evolution as the reason for man without a shred of proof. Evolution is by definition a linear movement from the simple to the more complex. Statistically speaking, the universe hasn’t existed long enough for a one cell organism from the primordial ooze to have evolved into a human being made up of 30 trillion cells. The timeline isn’t even close. There is no other plausible explanation for the existence of man other than he was created by God just like the Bible says in the book of Genesis.

John 17:17 – (Jesus speaking) – Sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth.

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

John 1:3 – All things were made through Him (Jesus), and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Genesis 2:7 – The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Proverbs 16:4 – The Lord has made all for Himself, yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.

A body system either works as a whole or it doesn’t work at all; and the human body has numerous body systems. Your eyes, for example, can’t just evolve until they can suddenly see. A person couldn’t survive blind until their sight evolved. Something would then have to guide that evolution of cells to form into an eye that could eventually see the physical world while at the same time making a spare eye in case one is lost. All cells of the human body start out exactly the same so what directs them to differentiate themselves into the various body systems, organs and tissues? The only possible answer is Almighty God. The human body has 206 bones. What is it within a body cell that causes it to become a bone cell? How does a bone cell know which bone to form and in what part of the human body? This can only come from the Lord our God.

Job 9:8 – He alone spreads out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea.

1 John 5:10 – He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

Isaiah 42:8 – I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another.

You cannot create order out of chaos or chance. Do you see how hopeless the theory evolution is? Someone had to design the human body and program the cells to do what they do and that someone is Almighty God. Humanists want so badly for man to be a God. So they had to come up with a theory that would support that and then they had to sell it to the masses by indoctrination using the world’s education system. This brainwashing of the masses has worked well for the most part because most people today don’t believe in God. Mankind has swallowed the theory of evolution hook, line and sinker. It’s now up to all of us who believe in God to push back on this false narrative put forth by the humanists and to go out and share the truth of God with nonbelievers at every opportunity. It’s our duty to God and the command of Jesus to witness the gospel message of Christ to all nations and all peoples. It’s our reasonable service to the God who made us.

Psalm 139:13-14 – For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Proverbs 3:19 – The Lord by His wisdom founded the earth; by His understanding He established the heavens.

Colossians 1:16-17 – For by Him (Jesus) all things were created that are in heaven and are on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He (Jesus) is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Isaiah 44:24 – Thus says the Lord, your redeemer, and He who formed you in the womb; I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by Myself.

Psalm 102:25-27 – Of old You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You will endure; yes, they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak You will change them, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will have no end.

Everything in our physical world was created by God. The planets of our solar system spin on their axis as they obit the sun. Our solar system swirls within the Milky Way galaxy. Our galaxy is only one of a billion other galaxies that are constantly moving throughout the universe in a precise manner; all according to the physical laws established by God. God has programmed all life to produce after its kind. The Bible says life is in the blood and blood courses through the veins of all higher forms of life because God wills it to be so. God has not only made everything in the universe; God also sustains the universe with the power of his right hand. Our day to day existence is only possible as long as God keeps extending his open hand. If God were to simply withdraw his hand from creation all matter in the universe would dissolve and melt away into the nothingness from whence it came.

Leviticus 17:11 – For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.

Job 26:7 – He stretches out the north over empty space, He hangs the earth on nothing.

Romans 1:18-19 – For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

Isaiah 43:11 – I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.

In summary, the fact that the earth exists is proof of God’s existence. The fact that the universe exists is proof that God exists. But most of all, the fact that man exists proves that God also exists. God not only made us; God sustains us every moment of our lives. I don’t want to hear any more of this nonsense from nonbelievers that there’s no God when I know very well they don’t have a shred of proof to back up their false claim. On the other hand, the proof of God is all around us. Take a good look. Check out the stars tonight! Anyone with half a brain who takes the time to examine the evidence will find the truth of God. We just need to identify who God really is because there are many false gods who also claim to be the one true God. Only our Lord and God of the Christian faith has presented a body of evidence that indisputably proves he is the one true living God of creation. In addition to creation, God has also given us his word and his son Jesus Christ as his testimony that the Lord alone is God.

Psalm 104:24 – O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions.

Isaiah 46:9 – Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; and there is none like Me.

Isaiah 45:5 – I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me.

Ephesians 3:9 – (I am) God who created all things through Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

The Bible is not only the truth of God; it’s also the wisdom of God. God put eternity in the hearts of men so they would know there was a God and seek his face. As believers we know that there is wisdom in all the verses of the Bible. However, some books of the Bible contain more wisdom than others, which is why the books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Job are referred to as the Bible’s wisdom literature. Even though the hymns of the book of Psalms are classified as Bible poetry I also like to include it as wisdom literature because the wisdom contained in the book of Psalms is self-evident. God pleads with man and reasons with him throughout the pages of the Bible so that we might be persuaded to seek God and find the truth of God which is contained in his word. What more can God do to reach out to us? It’s up to each of us to know the truth of God and then seek out his salvation unto eternal life while we yet live.

Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Isaiah 1:18 – Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

The word “proverb” means “universal truth”, which is the main topic of this blog. It’s no accident that many of the Scriptures supporting this blog come from the Bible’s wisdom literature books. As you read your Bible daily reflect on the wisdom contained in God’s word. The more we read God’s verses of wisdom the more our brain accepts them as the truth and incorporates them into our everyday actions. True wisdom is only gained through God’s word. In addition to gaining wisdom, our holiness and sanctification before God will increase the more we abide in God’s word. Read a chapter of the book of Proverbs every day for the best results. Let your mind continually soak up the wisdom of God every day through daily Bible reading and you’ll have a blessed life before the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 – He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Psalm 53:1 – The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

Psalm 104:4 – (God) Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.

Psalm 89:5 – And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O Lord; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints.

Psalm 33:11 – The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 – Fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.

Hiding in Plain Sight (#10 and last)

This ten-part blog series is about the revelation of God. God is always present in our world but he’s also hiding in plain sight. For believers who are spiritually aware seeing God in the world around us is easy. Satan can’t fool us. For nonbelievers, seeing God is much harder because Satan is the god of this world and he has blinded them to the truth of God. God is invisible so to prove he’s there believers need to be able to present facts and physical evidence that can only exist if there is a God. When believers witness for Christ they can present a series of events that defies all probability so that, in the end, we’re left with only one possible conclusion, which is that our God is the creator of all. So if God created man and put us on this earth what was the reason? I’ll tell you. God never does anything without a reason. God has given each of us our brief lifespan to make the free will decision to serve God or Satan. It’s the most important decision of our life, with eternal repercussions. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior God gifts us salvation unto eternal life in heaven in the presence of Jesus. If we reject God’s mercy and saving grace by choosing to serve Satan then we’ll reap the wrath of God, which results in eternal death in the lake of fire where we’ll be in constant pain and agony forever and ever.

2 Corinthians 4:4 – Whose minds the god of this age has blinded who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Philippians 2:9-10 – Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Proverbs 14:25 – A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

Our salvation is not the end of our walk with God, but the beginning. As disciples of Christ all believers are to present their bodies to God as their reasonable service to the God who made us. Believers are foot soldiers of Christ, commanded to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with the nonbeliever. Believers are commanded to do good works and witnessing for Christ is a good work. Witnessing for Christ is the number one good work, without which all other good works are meaningless. We know salvation unto eternal life is by faith alone and that any rewards we receive in heaven will be based on the actions we take during the life we live here on earth; primarily how effectively we witness for Jesus Christ. Whatever rewards we’re given in heaven will last for all eternity so it’s critically important we use our time here on earth wisely. You cannot witness for Christ effectively unless you intentionally plan to do it. You cannot effectively witness for Christ unless you prepare for it by knowing your God through prayer and then abiding in God’s Word through regular Bible reading and Bible study. You can’t do something well until you first learn how to do it properly. You can’t guide someone to salvation haphazardly. You need a plan, an outline in your head how you plan to proceed.

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile).

1 Corinthians 1:18 – For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

2 Corinthians 4:3 – But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

1 Corinthians 6:20 – For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Many verses of Scripture have been used to save people to the kingdom of God. I prefer to witness for Christ by using the tried and true path known as the, “Roman road”, which is a logical progression of thought in the Scriptures which will lead a nonbeliever to salvation. I prefer to start any witness of the gospel with John 3:16 because I’ve found people usually won’t listen to God until they know God loves them. Then I cover, in order, Romans 3:23 (all are sinners), Romans 6:23 (sins must be paid for), Romans 5:8 (Jesus paid our sin debt) and Romans 10:9 (accepting the gift of eternal life). Once you’ve presented the message of the gospel of Christ close the sale like any good salesman would; seek a commitment from them using the outline of the sinner’s prayer to God. If you’re unable to reap their soul for the kingdom of God, which is the most likely outcome, at least you’ll have spread the gospel seed as commanded by God. Keep in mind, it’s rare for someone to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior the first time they hear the gospel of Christ. It normally takes hearing the gospel message 15-20 times before someone gives their life to Christ. The amazing thing is that God is generous to a fault and he will equally reward believers who spread the gospel seed and those who bring in the harvest for the kingdom of God. Our God is great!

2 Corinthians 9:6 – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

2 Corinthians 5:20 – Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God was pleading through us: We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

1 Corinthians 3:9 – For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

The “proof of God” lists I’ve provided in this blog series are to be printed off, folded, and carried in your witness Bible as physical evidence of our God should a nonbeliever ask you to prove to him or her that God exists. Usually a nonbeliever doesn’t believe in God at all so the list of physical proofs of God is a good place to start. If they say they don’t believe the Bible is God’s word you have a list of proofs to refute that. If they don’t believe Jesus is God you have a list with ample proof to refute that too. If a nonbeliever doesn’t believe in miracles you have a list of some of God’s miracles performed in our lifetime. Your list of proofs of God by themselves probably won’t convince someone to choose God but they’ll give the nonbeliever pause; they’ll at least make him stop and listen. Nonbelievers will be saved primarily by your witness; your knowledge of God through his word and by your passion for Christ. Words can be faked but not your passion. Those who witness for Christ will be judged whether or not they are right by their love of God. Each believer needs to make it their intention to please God and that can only be accomplished by witnessing for Christ. As believers, when we stand before the bema judgment seat of Christ on the last day, our goal is to hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” That’ll only happen when we effectively witness for Christ by continually sowing the gospel seed of Jesus Christ until God calls us home or until Jesus comes for us in the air.

2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 4:14 – Knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and present us with you.

2 Corinthians 5:11 – Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

Ephesians 5:15-16 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Even when we know how to witness for Christ and are actively looking for people to witness to we’re lucky if we get to share the gospel message with two or three people a year. It’s just not enough! The key is we need to find a way to leverage our witness for Christ in order to reach more people through what I call “passive” witnessing. A religious television show or radio show are examples of passive witnessing for Christ. Christian book authors are passively witnessing for Christ through the pages of their books. My Christian blog site is my way of “passively” witnessing for the Lord. We can’t all witness for Christ using these venues. However, I’ve found another way that anyone can easily witness for Christ in a passive manner. Christian tracts are small cartoon booklets containing the gospel message and handing them out or funding their purchase will be accepted by God as passively witnessing for Christ.

Christian tracts are cheap at 18 cents apiece and they are an easy way to distribute the gospel message of Jesus Christ to people who otherwise can’t be reached any other way. Jack Chick invented Christian tracts over 75 years ago and after reading his life story it’s evident to me he had a passion for witnessing the gospel of Christ to nonbelievers. It’s also evident to me that the Holy Spirit was onboard with Jack Chick and helped him to develop this method of passively sharing the gospel message. Over one billion Chick tracts have been distributed throughout the world plus those of many competitors. Christian tracts in general have helped bring hundreds of thousands of people to salvation by sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ. You’d be wise to hand out Christian tracts because by doing so you’ll be obeying the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to witness the gospel message to all nations and all peoples. God will reward your obedience to his word.

The following are a few Scriptures where God reveals secrets not discovered by man until thousands of years later:

Hebrews 11:3 – By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. (atomic structure)

Isaiah 40:22 – It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. (the earth is round)

Job 26:7 – He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. (the earth hangs in space)

Job 28:5 – As for the earth, from it comes bread, but underneath it is turned up as by fire. (the earth has a molten core)

Psalm 104:6 – You covered it (the earth) with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. ( there are mountains beneath the sea)

Psalm 8:8 – The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. (the oceans have currents)

Amos 9:6 – He who builds his layers in the sky, and has founded His strata in the earth; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the face of the earth – the Lord is His name. (undersea water volcanoes, stratification of both the earth and sky into various layers)

Ecclesiastes 1:7 – All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; to the place from which the rivers come, there they return again. (hydrological cycle)

Job 36:27-28 – For He draws up drops of water, which distills as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man. (hydrological cycle)

Psalm 135:7 – He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rains; He brings the wind out of His treasuries. (hydrological cycle)

Hiding in Plain Sight (#9)

Scripture repeatedly tells us that God is constant. God does not change; never has in the past and never will in the future. We know that God made us and he loves us dearly. The Bible also tells us over and over God is faithful. That means we can count on God to love us and take care of us for all eternity. In the Old Testament times God revealed himself to all men through his wondrous miracles and through the prophets. Since we’ve already said God doesn’t change that means God also performs miracles today. The difference is God speaks to man today through the Bible, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and he no longer needs to perform miracles like we see in the Old Testament. God’s miracles today are more low key and understated. Nonbelievers will miss God’s miracles because they lack spiritual understanding; they are fools. Satan has totally blinded nonbelievers to God’s miracles in plain sight. Believers have the spiritual insight to see God’s miracles for what they are.

Malachi 3:6 – For I am the Lord, I do not change.

James 1:17 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Philippians 2:9-10 – Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

2 Corinthians 4:4 – Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Miracles are proofs of God that are one time events or events of a short duration. Miracles may not be readily recognized while they are happening. You might have to look at the end result and then work backward to come to the realization that something impossible and miraculous has happened, with the only logical explanation being God has intervened in some way. The Bible makes it clear the Jewish people are God’s chosen people. God has stated many time in Scripture that he will fight for Israel. Jerusalem is God’s holy city and he has chosen it to bear his name. God is the most powerful being in the universe and he has sworn to protect Israel as his special possession. The Arab nations should have the common sense to leave Israel alone but Satan has blinded them, along with all the other nations of the earth, with a hatred of Israel that will lead them all to the slaughter.

GOD’S MIRACLE PROOFS:

1. The existence of Israel – For most of the last 2000 years the nation of Israel did not exist. Because of their disobedience God ended Israel as a nation and dispersed the Jews throughout the world. No people once dispersed have ever maintained their ethnic identity and then were reconstituted into a nation, let alone in their original homeland. In the Bible God said he would regather his people Israel and make them into a nation once again. On May 14, 1948, Israel declared itself a new nation, with its original name and in their original homeland. This was three miracles of God in one.

2. War of Independence – When Israel declared itself a nation on May 14, 1948, it caused the Arabs to declare war and attack the next day. The combined forces of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon attacked with 650,000 troops and a highly mechanized army with tanks, armored vehicles and heavy artillery. On the other side Israel had around 48,000 men equipped with a handful of old rifles and sub-machine guns and very little ammunition. The Arabs also had a modern air force with jet aircraft. Israel countered with one Piper Cub airplane. The Arab forces outnumbered the Israeli forces forty to one and in military equipment the advantage was even more striking; something like one thousand to one. This was about the same odds Gideon faced when he battled the Midianites. Let’s face it, God prefers a battle where he is vastly outnumbered so the victory will be to his glory. When the fighting ended Israel had won the war and gained 23% more territory. It was the greatest military feat in the annals of human history. God fought for Israel.

3. The Sinai War – In 1956 Egypt attacked Israel and the war only lasted a week. Israel captured the Sinai peninsula all the way to the Suez Canal and destroyed a quarter of the much larger Egyptian Army. 3,000 Egyptian soldiers were killed and 5,600 were captured. Vast stores of military equipment were seized. Israel suffered 171 killed and 600 injured. God fought for Israel.

4. The Six Day War – In 1967 Israel launched a preemptive strike on Egypt as the Arabs were massing for an attack on Israel. The Egyptian air force was destroyed on the ground (444 planes). Egypt lost more than 100,000 men, 700 tanks and 450 artillery pieces. Israel lost two planes, 679 killed and 2, 563 wounded. Israel seized Sinai, Gaza, the west bank, all of Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, adding 8,000 more square miles to Israel. God fought for Israel.

5. The Yom Kippur War – In 1973 the Arabs caught Israel by surprise. Egypt and Syria attacked Israel with 5,000 tanks, 2,000 artillery pieces, 1,000 aircraft and 838,000 men. The advancing Arabs were on the verge of victory but they suddenly stopped for 48 hours. God made the Arabs hold up because he made them fearful and tentative. We’ve seen God do this with opposing armies several times in the Old Testament. Sometimes God makes armies turn on themselves and destroy each other. In this instance the pause in fighting allowed Israel to regroup and win the war. Israel lost 4,000 men but the Arabs suffered much heavier losses. God saved Israel once again.

6. The Russian War – This war hasn’t happened yet but its been prophesied in the Bible so it will happen. Russia will one day invade Israel and attempt to destroy Jerusalem and God has promised to kill six out of every seven Russian soldiers who invade Israel. God will destroy the Russian army.

7. The Battle of Armageddon – This battle will occur after the Russian War. The antichrist and the combined armies of the world will attack Israel and surround Jerusalem. Jesus Christ will set foot on the Mount of Olives at his Second Coming with his mighty angels to save Israel from destruction. Jesus will destroy the enemies of Israel and set up his millennial kingdom on the earth for 1,000 years.

Hiding in Plain Sight (#8)

There’s only one God but he exists in three distinct divine persons; God the Father, Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit. This is called the Triune Godhead. Scripture confirms that it was Jesus Christ who actually created the universe, earth and man. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all men but he’s the Savior of only those who accept him as Lord and Savior. The word Savior we can all understand. Jesus saved us “from” spending eternity in hell in continuous pain and agony and at the same time Jesus saved us “to” an eternity in heaven with joy and happiness in the presence of Jesus. The gulf between these two extreme destinations is breathtaking; and Jesus died on the cross to give us that choice between the two. Jesus Christ is unique because he is the only person who is both man and God. Jesus has always existed in heaven as an invisible spirit. When God came to earth in the incarnation of Jesus Christ he became a man and lived a normal human life. Jesus had a dual nature; he was both 100% God and 100% man with no mixing of the two natures.

Colossians 1:16-17 – For by Him (Jesus) all things were created that are in heaven and are on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Colossians 2:9-10 – For in Him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

As a man Jesus was resurrected by God into his glorified body to defeat death. As the first fruits of the resurrection Jesus is an example that shows all believers they will one day also receive glorified bodies that will be exactly like Jesus’ glorified body. As God, Jesus Christ ascended back to heaven where he sits at the right hand of the Father. Jesus didn’t revert back to being an invisible spirit once he got to heaven. For all eternity Jesus will remain in his glorified human body. When we call Jesus our Lord it means he’s our King and we are slaves of Christ, bond servants of the Lord. We belong to Jesus. God gave Jesus dominion over heaven and earth and also the judgment of all men on the last day. Jesus will one day give all believers their eternal rewards in heaven and Jesus will sentence all nonbelievers on the last day to an eternity in the lake of fire. Every person who has ever lived will be resurrected bodily one day and bow their knee to Jesus Christ; who is King of kings and Lord of lords. Don’t wait until then; start thinking of Jesus Christ as your King right now and give him the honor, praise, worship and glory that is his due from this point onward.

This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body be given to him. When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.

35. That he would be raised from the dead.

Hiding in Plain Sight (#7)

All Christian believers are responsible for maintaining their passion for God. We do that through daily prayer and daily Bible reading, thereby staying in fellowship with God the Father. A believers constant goal should be to always please God. The Bible states that a lukewarm Christian does not please God. You have to be self-motivated and stoke your own internal spiritual fire in this world. Never ever let your faith grow cold! Each person is different so let’s each of us do whatever we need to do personally to keep our fire for God burning bright. All believers are also responsible for maintaining their fear of the Lord. I’m talking about “fear” in the biblical sense, which means to look upon God with awe, reverence and deep respect. This is an easy thing to do as long as you stay in fellowship with God through daily prayer and daily Bible reading. When you do the Holy Spirit will be more prominent in your life and your sanctification will accelerate as you walk humbly with your God all the time.

Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

God should be on the mind of believers numerous times throughout each day. Believers should be giving God honor, praise, worship and glory every day! At least once a week each believer should set aside some quality time to quietly meditate about the majesty and magnitude of Almighty God. This will help you maintain your passion for God and also your fear of the Lord. More importantly, God is pleased when you think about him and this more than anything else will increase and nurture your love of God. It’s easy to love someone who loved you first, when you didn’t deserve it. It’s easy to love a God who set aside his crown in heaven and lowered himself to our level by living a human life in order to save us from the fires of hell. That is real love. Jesus Christ died on the cross in our place to save us from our sins. Jesus could have said “no” at any time and avoided crucifixion; but then man would have been lost forever. Instead, Jesus bore the shame and humiliation of his terrible death to save us. Jesus is our Savior, my Savior, and I love him for it. When you think about Jesus just remember what he did for you, what he did for all of us, and that he loves you still.

Hiding in Plain Sight (#6)

God is obvious but he’s not intrusive. We’ve covered the first two arrows in the quiver of those who witness for Christ; physical proofs of God and Bible proofs of God. Now we come to the third and final sure sign from God that all men have access to. The final arrow in the quiver of those who witness for Christ is the proof of Jesus. In God’s word, our Holy Bible, God gave us his testimony about the coming of his son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for the sins of fallen man. According to Bible scholars the Bible contains over 60 prophecies about the coming of Jesus Christ. I personally can’t find that many prophecies about Jesus but I did make a list of the 37 prophecies about Jesus I think are most important. During his life Jesus Christ fulfilled every one of those 37 prophecies by his birth, ministry, death and resurrection. The odds of any one person fulfilling all of the prophecies about the Messiah and not being God in the flesh is zero.

Isaiah 43:26 – Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted.

On my Jesus proofs I have a list of 37 Old Testament prophecies about the coming of the Messiah followed by the New Testament fulfillment of those Old Testament prophecies. Fulfillment of all the messianic prophecies in the Bible is documented by Roman and Jewish historical records and by numerous eyewitness testimonies of that time in history, which was how truth was established in ancient times. After the death of Jesus written accounts of his life were made by those who were there to witness it. The story of Jesus Christ is the story of the greatest event in human history. God in heaven came off his throne and lived a human life in order to save fallen man from their sins. By his actions God has proven his great love for us.

2. That he would be given the throne of David.

Prophecy – Isaiah 9:6-7 – For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Fulfillment – Luke 1:31-33 – You (Mary) will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee, and went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”

11. That he would be zealous for the Father.

Prophecy – Psalm 119:139 – My zeal has consumed me, because my enemies have forgotten Your words.

Fulfillment – John 2:16 – (Jesus speaking) – Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!

12. That he would be filled with God’s Spirit.
