How to receive blessings from God

Playing the lottery is for suckers. Most people know it yet they keep playing. They simply can’t help themselves. Government at all levels, city, state and federal, know better than to push lotteries on those who can’t really afford it but they can’t help themselves either because they are all greedy. All governments love to spend other people’s money and the more the better. The more they spend the more they want and it’s universal in all countries of the world. All governments want to spend more and more of your money on their pet projects and lotteries are nothing more than a tax on the poor without calling it a tax. I’m not poor and I’m disciplined enough not to play the lottery, with one exception. When the power ball or mega million lotteries reach 700 million without a winner I will buy $10 worth of lottery tickets. What ticks me off is having no winner for four additional drawings and I’m now out $40. The odds of winning the lottery are three hundred million to one so I don’t expect to win any time soon. I would have been much better off using the $40 I spent on lottery tickets to buy Christian tracts or Bibles for one of my seven prison ministries because at least they give me the chance to save someone’s eternal soul.

Isaiah 1:18 – Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

2 Peter 1:3-4 – As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

John 6:44 – (Jesus) – No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body (by witnessing) and in your spirit (by praying), which are God’s.

If you’re a believer you’ve already won the greatest lottery of all time. Out of all the people who have ever lived throughout human history probably only one in a thousand people ever make it to heaven so count yourself blessed to have been one of those chosen to go to heaven. God has adopted you as a son of the Most High so count yourself lucky and praise God for your good fortune. Make sure you prove yourself to be worthy of your lofty status as a prince or princess in heaven. Make God proud of you because of your good works before the Lord (witnessing for Christ) to save lost souls for the kingdom of heaven. Don’t disappoint your maker by keeping your salvation all to yourself because God leaves you here on earth so you can pay your salvation forward by witnessing for Christ. Millions of nonbelievers are dying every day and going straight to hell for the lack of a witness for Christ. God intends for you to be that witness. As believers we can’t save everyone but we can save one. We can save one more for Jesus every day with our testimony about God. Ask for God’s help in prayer and he will help you save lost souls for heaven.

Proverbs 14:25 – A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

James 5:20 – He who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death (eternal death in hell).

Ephesians 6:18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

I’m not a greedy person. By playing the lottery I was buying the dream of using the money for good works on behalf of the Lord so that God is blessed and I’m blessed by God in return. You don’t need to become a missionary or win the lottery to please God or have him bless you. You can be blessed by God right where you are by doing the following things. First, you need to believe in the one true God Jehovah and reject all the other false gods sponsored by Satan to hide the truth of God from man. Then accept God’s only begotten son, Jesus Christ, as your personal Lord and Savior. Start by asking God for the forgiveness of your sins by repeating the sinner’s prayer to God in all sincerity. God will then save you unto eternal life in heaven because he said he would in his word and God cannot lie. Second, you need to remain in fellowship with God the Father through daily prayer, daily Bible reading, and by studying God’s word for knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Lastly, you must obey all the commandments of God contained in the Bible to the best of your ability. Pleasing God by obeying his commandments will cause you to receive the many blessings that God wants you to have from his hand. God is glorified when he bestows blessings on man. God is ready, willing, and able to give believers eternal treasures in heaven that far exceed anything we could accomplish by winning a billion dollars in the lottery down here on earth. Remember the odds of winning the lottery are three hundred million to one. But with God you are guaranteed to be a winner as long as you are in obedience to his word. Let me explain how to do it.

2 Corinthians 5:18 – Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

Note: The ministry of reconciliation means the duty to repair man’s broken relationship with God (reconcile). It’s just another way of saying we’re to “witness for Christ.” Once we’re saved God commands us to share the gospel. We don’t have the option of refusing if we want to please God and receive his blessings on earth and treasure in heaven on the last day.

Romans 12:1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Matthew 17:26 – (Jesus) – With men this is impossible (our salvation), but with God all things are possible.

James 1:22 – But be doers of the word (by witnessing), and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

God made the angels, the universe, and man. This is all spelled out in the Bible and the evidence is overwhelming for believers like me who have studied God’s word for many years. It pleased God to put man on this earth for his pleasure and his glory. God wants every creature made by his hand to be in heaven with him but the Lord gives each one of us the free will choice to serve God or Satan. Not choosing is a choice for Satan. Choosing God will result in salvation unto eternal life in heaven where God will shower us with love, honor and glory. Choosing Satan will result in eternal life in the lake of fire and brimstone where the nonbeliever will be in pain and agony 24/7 for all eternity. Once you know the truth of God and understand God’s salvation plan for man you need to accept the Lord’s saving grace as quickly as you can or you could suffer the eternal consequences should you die unexpectedly. If we haven’t chosen God and his salvation before we die it’s too later. Satan will harvest your soul for hell immediately after you die unsaved and that’s just a spiritual truth of God. Believers who die in the Lord immediately go to heaven. Satan has put blinders over the eyes of nonbelievers so that they cannot see the truth of God. It’s up to believers to rip those blinders off so the lost can see the light of God’s glory. 90% of the saints in heaven will be there through faith in Jesus Christ alone; never having saved even a single soul to heaven by a witness for Christ. Make sure you’re not one of them. Be doers of the word. Don’t stand before the bema judgment seat of Christ empty-handed.

2 Corinthians 9:6 – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Note: God makes it clear if you don’t witness for Christ in order to save lost souls for the kingdom of heaven you’ll not reap the honor, glory and treasure in heaven that you could have had. You’ll be in heaven through faith in Jesus but you’ll have empty pockets because of your disobedience. All your good works will be burned up before the bema judgment seat of Jesus Christ on the last day.

Hebrews 12:1 – Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

Note: God describes our life on earth as a race. God has laid out a different race for each of us and it’s called our life. We are to run our best possible race for God by witnessing for Christ and saving nonbelievers to the kingdom of God as long as we live. That’s why every day when I wake us my mantra is to save, “one more for Jesus” for as long as I have breath in me. Our time on earth is short and there’s no better use of our time than saving souls.

Daniel 12:3 – Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

John 1:12 – But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

It’s God’s world and he makes all the rules. God calls and saves whomever he pleases but it pleases God to allow man to participate in his salvation plan for man. Believers are to save nonbelievers to the kingdom of heaven by sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ with all nations and all people. Believers who witness for Christ glorify God and in return God will glorify and bless those believers who do the good works God has given them to do. Someone once helped save you and me to eternal life in heaven and we owe it to them to pay our salvation forward and help save nonbelievers to heaven through the gospel of Christ. This is how God means to populate heaven with his saints. Saving lost souls for heaven is our reasonable service to the God who made us. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and holy before the Lord as a vessel fit for the master’s use to do good works. The number one good work we do for God is sharing the gospel message of Christ with all nonbelievers everywhere we find them. As believers we’re saved to heaven through faith in Jesus Christ alone but we’re blessed by God according to our good works here on earth.

Romans 9:15 – (God speaking to Moses) – I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.

Philippians 2:13 – For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Mark 11:24 – (Jesus) – Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Ephesians 5:15-16 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

God doesn’t need us to save man but it pleased God to allow man to work alongside him in his harvest field to help save nonbelievers to the kingdom of heaven so he can glorify us in heaven and give us precious gifts. In fact, God commands that we witness for Christ in his harvest field and pray for more workers because the harvest field is great and the workers are few. We like to think when we witness for Christ that we’re doing 80% of the work to save someone to heaven when the exact opposite is true. God does 80% of the heavy lifting it takes to save someone unto eternal life in heaven. Nobody is saved unless God first calls them. Nobody is saved until the Holy Spirit first comes and convicts the sinner in his spirit so that he knows the God of creation and understands that he is full of sin and that only God can forgive him of those sins. Nobody is saved until the Holy Spirit takes it upon himself to change the nonbelievers eternal destination from hell to heaven. Nobody is saved until the Holy Spirit writes the nonbelievers name in the book of life. When the Holy Spirit does these things the nonbeliever becomes a believer in the eyes of God and justified through faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is God. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. Our 20% contribution to saving someone is sharing our witness for Christ. Nobody gets saved without the presence of the Holy Spirit (in us and in the world) and God’s word, usually spoken in faith by a believer giving his witness of God. We just need to witness for Christ and let God do the rest. In the Great Commission Jesus gave to his disciples he didn’t say go out and save all people. Jesus merely said for his disciples to share (witness) the gospel message of Christ because he knew God would do the saving himself.

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

John 15:5 – (Jesus) – I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

James 4:2 – Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss.

Colossians 4:5 – Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside (nonbelievers), redeeming the time (by witnessing for Christ).

The best way to be blessed by God is so easy most believers tend to forget about it. When you go before the throne of grace in heaven daily and pray to God always bless God first and then ask God to bless you in return. God loves you and he wants to give you what you ask for because God is glorified when he grants our prayers. The main thing about prayers to God is they must not be contrary to God’s ethics or his will. In addition, prayers must continue without ceasing until God grants your petition. One prayer and then you’re done won’t cut it with God. While we may be in a rush to have our prayers answered by God he has his own timeline for responding to our requests. One last thing. You must believe without any doubt that God will grant your prayers. The things I’m telling you are confirmed in James 4:2, Mark 11:24, and 1 Timothy 2:8. When the Bible says God will bless you for doing something make sure you do it. Reading from the book of Revelation is just one example (Revelation 1:3).

1 Timothy 2:8 – I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Matthew 9:37-38 – (Jesus) – The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

1 Peter 5:10 – But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered awhile, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

In summary, if you want to be blessed by God ask him for his blessings in prayer and pray the same prayer every day of your life. God says you can have what you say so keep saying it until God gives you your request. Repetition is good for the soul! If you want God to bless you greatly then obey the number one commandment of God, which is to witness for Christ continuously in order to save lost souls for the kingdom of heaven until God decides to bring you home. Your times are in God’s hands so don’t worry about that. Just do the work that God gives you to do. It’s as simple as that. God gives believers treasures in heaven based on the number of people they save. If we save at least one person to heaven God will be pleased with us. If every soul is priceless to God how could he be other than pleased? In Daniel 12:3 God also says that believers who save many to heaven will shine like the stars in the firmament. I’ve asked God in prayer to define “many” and he has confirmed in my spirit the number is 1000. Our job is to witness for Christ and let God sort it all out on the last day. That’s why my mind is on God all day long and why my daily mantra is to save one more for Jesus. We are to emulate Christ by the way we live our life here on earth. You don’t have to take my word for it (see Proverbs 14:25 and Proverbs 11:30).

James 5:15 – The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Matthew 13:23 – (Jesus) – But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Act 1:8 – (Jesus) – But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

“He Never Told Us!”

In heaven and in hell there are no secrets. You and the host of heaven will know everyone who had a hand in saving you, both as the sower of the gospel seed that moved you along the path to salvation and the person who reaped your soul for the kingdom of heaven. You’ll also know everyone you helped to save. Rarely does anyone get saved the first time they hear the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Usually it takes hearing the gospel seed sown 25-30 times before a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God is generous and the Bible assures us that both the sower and the reaper of a human soul to heaven will be rewarded equally on the last day. God is reciprocal so the opposite is also true. God never made anyone with the express purpose of sending them to hell. All creatures made by God have the same chance at heaven. Nonbelievers who wind up in hell will be acutely aware of all their missed opportunities to be saved unto eternal life in heaven. Those in hell will know which of their family members, friends and acquaintances were believers who failed to witness the gospel of Christ to them. It makes no difference whether they would have listened or not. A nonbeliever in hell will always blame their plight on anyone who knew the truth of God and failed to witness the gospel of Christ to them.

Matthew 4:4 – (Jesus) – It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Romans 4:4 – Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

Romans 12:1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The fact that nonbelievers weren’t given every opportunity to be saved by a witness for Christ means that for all eternity the condemned person will be in pain and agony in the fires of hell and he won’t take any responsibility for being in hell. It’s always someone else’s fault. He’ll continually blame and curse those who failed to witness Christ to them. Part of the eternal agony of the damned is knowing that they could have had salvation unto eternal life in heaven for the asking. The nonbelievers in hell will point their finger at all those Christians who failed to give them their testimony about God and they’ll declare for all eternity, “He never told us!” God will do his part by directing all nonbelievers into the path of believers when their heart is ready, or vice versa, so they can receive a witness for Christ. It’s the duty of every Christian to share the gospel message of Christ with the nonbelievers God guides to us. God gives every person multiple chances at salvation so it’s not all on us to save any one person to heaven. What would happen if we had the last opportunity to save nonbelievers from hell and we chickened out? Would God choose to appoint another witness for Christ to take our place or would they be lost to hell forever? Think about the prospect of somebody going to hell because of us. Now imagine a hundred people in hell that you could have saved if you’d witnessed to them and they’re all pointing a fingers at you and yelling forevermore, “He never told us!” about God’s saving grace through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. That would be terrible! It’s far better for you to face rejection now on earth for sharing the gospel of Christ and receive glory from God in heaven than it is to be cursed forever by those lost souls in hell because you failed to tell them about God’s saving grace when you had the chance.

1 Peter 3:15 – But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

Matthew 13:23 – (Jesus) – But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Acts 1:8 – (Jesus) – But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

John 20:21 – So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

My greatest fear is not dying because I know I’m going to Jesus when I die. My greatest fear is displeasing God by not sharing my witness for Christ with everyone that God intended for me to witness to. On the last day believers in heaven should be filled with joy so why is it God says he’ll wipe away our tears in heaven? Those tears will not come because of our sins which God has already forgiven. Our tears in heaven will flow when God reveals to us all those people we could have saved to heaven if we had only shared our witness for Christ with them as God commanded. What we could have accomplished on earth won’t be revealed until we get to heaven. Everyone in heaven will have regrets about their life on earth and we’ll all shed tears for our missed opportunities. We can’t save everyone but we are commanded by God to save some. We can save one if we put our mind to it. We can save many if we have a plan to leverage our witness for Christ and we pray for God’s help. Without God we can do nothing but with Christ we can do all things.

2 Timothy 2:15 – Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile).

Ephesians 5:15-16 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Matthew 22:14 – (Jesus) – For many are called, but few are chosen.

My eternal spirit came from God and I’m going back to God when I die. Our time on earth is our “testing time” to determine whether we’ll serve God or Satan. I chose to serve God at the age of twelve when I was baptized. Everyone has to make a choice and not choosing is a choice for Satan. We’re all aliens on the earth here but a short time and we shouldn’t waste a minute of our time on frivolous things. Our primary mission from God is to witness the gospel message of Jesus Christ to all who will listen in order to save lost souls for the kingdom of heaven. The spiritually aware can find this commandment throughout the Bible. It’s the only way we can truly please the God who made us. We find a good example of this command to witness for Christ in Colossians 4:3-6:

Colossians 4:3-6 – Meanwhile praying for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

Colossians 4:3 – Meanwhile praying for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains.

Note: Scripture tells us nobody is saved unless God first calls them. If you aren’t abiding in God’s word and praying to God on a daily basis you aren’t ready to effectively witness for Christ. When you are ready to speak the mystery of Christ to a nonbeliever God will bring them across your path so you can witness to them. For example, God sent Peter to witness to the Roman centurion Cornelius and then later God sent Phillip to witness to the eunuch from Ethiopia. We must be a worthy vessel in order for the master to use us to save others. Those who serve God are slaves of Christ and giving our testimony of Jesus Christ is not an option as true believers. It is a commandment of God for which we’ll all be judged on the last day.

Colossians 4:4 – That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Note: Being saved doesn’t make you capable of being an effective witness for Christ. God commands all believers to not only read their Bible daily but also to study God’s word for knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Once you know the truth of God intimately you can share your witness with passion and conviction. You’ll then be able to answer any question the nonbeliever may have. I have a written witness outline I developed based on what is called the “Roman road” to salvation. I no longer need to use it but it’s there if I want to refer to it. I have also created written proofs of God, Jesus and the Bible I can use depending on what questions the nonbeliever has about God. You cannot “do” the work of God until you know what to do just like you can’t be a doctor without first going to medical school. Without training and preparation in your chosen field (i.e., witnessing for Christ) it’s like the blind leading the blind like Jesus says in the gospels.

Colossians 4:5 – Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

Note: The Bible is God’s wisdom and scripture says those who save lost souls for the kingdom of heaven are wise. So when you walk in wisdom you’re studying the Bible, praying to God, and witnessing for Christ. Believers are inside the family of God and nonbelievers are those people who are outside of God’s family. Believers are those already saved so we’re obviously being told by God to witness to nonbelievers. The dictionary says the word redeem means to save someone from sin, error or evil. Several verses in the Bible urge believers to redeem their time here on earth wisely because our time here is short. Our treasure in heaven will be based primarily on how many people we save for God. Witnessing for Christ is the only thing we’ll ever do that has eternal consequences. Everything else we do in life is meaningless and this is declared by none other than King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived. Go read the book of Ecclesiastes for confirmation.

Colossians 4:6 – Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how to answer each one.

Note: Grace means polite good will so when you witness for Christ your tone should convey that. God says we should witness with meekness and fear (showing awe, reverence and respect for God). Your witness for Christ should reflect the knowledge, understanding and wisdom gained from studying God’s word. If you do the two things mentioned above you’ll be able to adequately answer any question about God posed by a nonbeliever looking for answers about God. Before you witness for Christ always say a little prayer to God to ask for his help in reaching a nonbeliever so that the gospel message falls on good ground.

Daniel 12:3 – And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Proverbs 14:25 – A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

I don’t know how many Christian believers are actively witnessing for Christ in obedience to the commandment of God. I do know it’s a relatively small number of the total number of people who claim to be Christians. Supposedly there are 2.5 billion Christian worldwide. We know there are 1.5 billion Catholics and a great many of them think they’re saved but they aren’t because a lot of them are depending on the church to save them instead of God. The leaders of the Catholic church discourage witnessing for Christ because they want salvation to be achieved only through the Catholic church and their priests so that they have power over their flock and their money. Have you ever seen or heard about any Catholic witnessing for Christ? I know I haven’t and I pay attention to those things. Of the remaining one billion Protestant Christians only about 300,000 belong to evangelical churches that make witnessing for Christ a tenet of the church. Only 10% of evangelicals who attend church regularly have read their Bible in its entirety, and fewer than that have actually taken the time to study the Bible for knowledge, understanding and wisdom. You can’t witness for Christ effectively if you aren’t in fellowship with God and that comes by prayer and abiding in God’s word. You can’t save someone if you don’t know what to say and that only comes through study and preparation. A witness for Christ must know their Bible well enough to locate appropriate scriptures and answer questions about God. A nonbeliever will tune you out very quickly if you’re not knowledgeable about God.

Ephesians 1:4-5 – Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Luke 12:8-9 – (Jesus) – Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

Matthew 10:38 – (Jesus) – And he who does not take up his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

I’m being very generous when I say there are probably no more than 30,000 Christians in the world who are actively sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ in a meaningful way. So we have 30,000 true believers trying to save eight billion people on earth. I’m not crazy about the odds. God wasn’t kidding when he says his harvest field is great (the whole world) and the workers are few. We just didn’t know how few workers there are. That’s why every day millions of nonbelievers are dying and going straight to hell for the lack of a witness for Christ. Now do you understand my sense of urgency to witness for Christ and why I ask others to join me? That’s why every believer should be trying to save “one more for Jesus” every day. There are so few of us to reach so many! I’ve found writing my Christian blog and distributing Christian tracts to be the easiest, cheapest and best ways to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the most people.

Ephesians 6:19 – And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 – For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 – But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.

James 5:20 – He who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death (eternal death in hell).

Keep in mind that there are a lot of people who claim to be members of an evangelical church but only go to church once in a while which further reduces the number of believers actually witnessing for Christ. There are many evangelical Christians who study the Bible and are saved through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, but when it comes right down to it they lack the moral courage to actually share their testimony about Jesus. This further reduces the number of active witnesses for Christ. These people are cowards. They are gutless. They can’t handle the potential rejection, the scorn, the persecution that comes with witnessing for Christ. Jesus says we’re to pick up his cross and follow him if we have the strength, determination and courage to do so. Do you have what it takes to follow Christ? My mantra every day is to save “one more for Jesus” by my passive witnessing for Christ through my Christian tract ministry and my Christian blog. You would be wise to contemplate how you can best serve God and then take action when you decide what you should do. Just do something!

Matthew 9:37-38 – (Jesus) – The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

John 6:44 – (Jesus) – No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Luke 6:39 – (Jesus) – Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?

1 Peter 1:15-16 – But as He who calls you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

And finally, you have those evangelical Christians who know how to witness for Christ and do share their testimony of Christ one on one when the opportunity arises. The only thing wrong with that is the opportunities to personally witness for Christ are few and far between so potentially only a few people can or will be saved this way. These believers won’t go out of their way to witness for Christ outside of their comfort zone. They are lazy Christians. God wants believers to be proactive and fight for him tooth and nail. Get out there among nonbelievers and mix it up. Witness to all who will listen. Expect rejection and be ready to counter it. Remember that God will glorify you when you are rejected and persecuted. God wants you to work his harvest field alongside him to save souls for the kingdom of heaven because you know a secret that they desperately need (the gospel of Christ). That’s the main reason God leaves us on earth after our salvation. That’s why Jesus gave believers the Great Commission before he ascended back to heaven; which is to share the gospel of Christ with all nations and all people. Our life is meaningless apart from a right relationship with God. A right relationship with God requires that we continue to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with all nonbelievers everywhere.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 – For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Corinthians 2:6 – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

1 Peter 1:17 – And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear.

Revelation 21:4 – And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

When Jesus recruited Simon and Andrew to be his disciples he merely said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” Jesus wasn’t just talking to the twelve; the original disciples. As believers we’re all disciples of Jesus Christ and God was speaking to every Christian believer in every age. All believers are commanded to become fishers of men and that requires regular prayer and a thorough knowledge of God’s word. According to 2 Corinthians 5:18, if you’re a believer God has already signed you up for his heavenly fishing tournament. Of course you’ll have to learn what bait you should use and where to fish but that comes with experience. You’ll also have to throw your hook in the water once in a while otherwise what’s the point of being saved and remaining on earth in the first place? Believers saving nonbelievers is all part of God’s salvation plan for man. That’s how heaven is populated and God is glorified. That’s how believers earn their treasures in heaven. You have a choice. You can get in the game of life and be an effective witness for Christ or you can do nothing and ride the bench in heaven for all eternity. I want to make a difference by saving lost souls. The good thing is you get to keep what you catch forever and there’s no limit to how many fish (men) you catch. In heaven God will honor all those fishermen who have effectively witnessed for Jesus Christ by showering them with glory, honor and riches beyond their wildest imagination.

2 Corinthians 5:18 – Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation (by witnessing Christ).

Mark 1:17 – (Jesus) – Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.

Ephesians 6:12 – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Matthew 7:13-14 – (Jesus) – Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

In summary, we were made by the hands of God and put here on earth for a purpose. Don’t let the devil cloud your judgment and lead you away from the truth of God. We don’t have to guess why we’re here because God tells us in his word. We are to glorify God by our life of good works. The number one good work we do for God is sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ with all endurance in order to save lost souls to the kingdom of God. First of all, if you don’t accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior you’re going to hell. It’s as simple as that. Secondly, if you don’t witness for Christ and help save lost souls for the kingdom of heaven as commanded by the Lord you’re missing your calling from God. While you get to heaven through faith in Jesus Christ you earn treasures in heaven based on the number of souls you save. If you save nobody to heaven you’ll have all your good works burned up on the last day and you’ll be on the bottom rung of heaven, much like a private in the Army. Those of us who save many for heaven will be like generals in the army. Once you earn your rank in heaven that’s it. There’s no chance of a promotion in heaven. Whatever rank you start with in heaven you’ll retain for all eternity. We’re talking about a trillion billion years being a day in eternity. Will you be happy just being a private in heaven forever or would you prefer to be a general in heaven and rule with Christ? I was actually a private in the U. S. Army for three years in Germany back in the early 1970’s and I can tell you from personal experience that being a private sucked. Everybody and their dog tells you what to do. You have my testimony. The choice is totally up to you. I plan on being a general this time around. Now you can no longer tell Jesus Christ on the last day, when you stand before the bema judgment seat of Christ, that you didn’t know what you were supposed to do with your life because I have told you and Jesus will remember my words and your actions.

Philippians 3:20 – For our citizenship is in heaven, for which we also wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:9 – God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 9:24 – Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

Joshua 24:15 – (Joshua to the Israelites) – And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Matthew 5:16 – (Jesus) – Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 21:22 – (Jesus) – And whatever things you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.

Matthew 28:19 – (Jesus) – Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Friday Bible Affirmations

In Old Testament times God performed many public miracles so that people would believe in him. God spoke to man out of thin air so that people would obey his commands. God no longer has to do that in our day because we now have God’s written word, our Holy Bible, and through its pages God speaks to us. We’re now living in the New Testament times, also referred to as the church age or the time of the Gentiles. In his word God commands that believers talk to him in prayer. When God talks to us through the Bible and we talk to God in prayer we’re communicating with our sovereign Lord. When we read the Bible daily and we pray daily we are in fellowship with God. That is how God intended for us to live our lives. We please God when we obey his commandments. God made us for a purpose and that purpose is to live in heaven forever in the presence of Jesus Christ, in fellowship with the God who made us. All the angels now in heaven were made to worship and serve God. Man was created so that we may also serve God; both on earth now and later in heaven. Both angels and man are eternal beings made by God for his pleasure.

The difference is the angels in heaven have served God from the beginning, from their creation, whereas man has to first live out their brief lives here on earth to see if they will freely choose to serve God or Satan. Our life on earth is our “testing time” to determine our eternal destination. If man chooses to serve God through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior they will be saved unto eternal life in heaven and when they die they will immediately go to be in the presence of Jesus forever. The saints in heaven will stand before the bema judgment seat of Jesus Christ to receive their rewards. However, if man chooses to serve Satan, or he fails to make a choice, when he dies he’ll immediately go to hell within the earth to face the devil where he’ll be in pain and agony 24/7. Those people who are condemned will be resurrected bodily from hell on the last day to stand before the Great White Throne judgment of Jesus Christ, where they will be judged and thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone for all eternity alongside Satan and all the fallen angels.

Jesus Christ, the son of God, is my Lord and Savior. By his death on the cross Jesus Christ has reconciled us to God. Jesus took our stripes and died a horrible death so that we don’t have to die for our sins. Jesus took our sins upon himself and because of that we can now approach the throne of grace any time we want and speak to God directly. However, you must claim the victory over eternal death by a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. God is waiting for your decision. Do you have any idea what an honor it is to be able to speak with the King of the universe at any time? The angels in heaven don’t have that privilege but you do so take advantage of it. The problem is believers really don’t know how to pray and what they should say to God. I’ve got news for you; nobody else does either until they start reading the Bible daily and start abiding in the word of God for knowledge, understanding and wisdom. The more you pray the better you’ll get at it because like all things, practice makes perfect. Bible affirmations are just another tool to help you talk to God in a more meaningful way. Bible affirmations are structured in such a way that God is glorified by your prayers before the throne of grace. This is my testimony about one of the ways I worship God. Our life on earth is short so use the time down here wisely. I wish you godspeed as you seek to improve your prayer life before the Lord.

Verse – Galatians 3:26-29 – For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Verse – Ephesians 4:29-30 – Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearer. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Thursday Bible Affirmations

In the Bible there are 129 direct commandments from God to every believer, although more than a few of them are redundant. You can find a list of God’s commandments in any good Bible concordance. When God uses the word “shall” in reference to the believer there’s no mistaking it’s a command from God. When God uses the word “shall” in reference to himself it’s a promise from God. Any one of these commandments from God would make great a affirmation. The possibilities are endless. To claim that verse in your life just flip it around and declare you’ll obey whatever it is that God is commanding that you do in that verse. Affirmation equals obedience. Remember in prayer you pray the solution or end result desired and not the problem, even if the answer you want hasn’t occurred yet. You always pray as though your petition before God has been granted and you always thank God for his provision. In numerous Bible scriptures God says believers can have whatever they ask for if they ask in faith and if it’s also God’s will. The trick is to keep praying as long as it takes for your prayers to be answered because God has his own timeline for answering your prayer. Whether you recite just one Bible affirmation from memory or you read off fifty affirmations a week like I do it’s all good because it’s used to glorify God.

I think Bible affirmations are the perfect prayer for this purpose because the content of your prayer never changes much because they’re written down and ready to repeat over and over. In my case, I speak my Bible affirmations to God every weekday so that I get through them all at least once every week. Everyone needs to create Bible affirmations that conform to their own goals. I crafted my Bible affirmations to focus on my obedience to God’s commandments, especially where they pertain to studying the word of God and witnessing for Christ. There is no better use of a believer’s time than sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ in order to save a nonbeliever to the kingdom of heaven because the fruit of your labor will last forever. Witnessing for Christ is the dearest thing to God’s heart, as evidenced by the Great Commission which Jesus Christ gave to his disciples before he ascended back to heaven. As believers we’re also disciples of Jesus Christ and the commandment to share the gospel also falls on us. If we want to please God we need to obey. If we love God we should obey. If we want to build up treasures in heaven we must obey. Witnessing for Christ is the main reason why God leaves us here on earth after we have been saved unto eternal life in heaven. We are to do the work God has planned for us to do from the foundation of the world.

Verses – 1 Timothy 2:8 – I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Ephesians 6:18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

Affirmation – In obedience to your word O Lord, I will pray often before the throne of grace. Early and often will I seek your face O Lord, seeking your favor in all things. By the praise of my lips I will worship the Lord my God every day, offering up love, honor and glory to my King. Praise the Lord for his kindness toward his servant.

Verses – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Psalm 40:16 – Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let such as love Your salvation say continually, “the Lord be magnified!”

Affirmation – Daily I will rejoice that the Lord is my God. For you have made me O Lord and saved me unto eternal life in heaven in your presence. I will pray without ceasing, giving you the praise of my lips for your love, mercy, and grace toward your servant. I thank you Lord for your guardian angels who watch over me. My gladness and joy is complete in the Lord’s presence. Before the throne of grace I will say continually, “The Lord be magnified!”

Ephesians 6:12 – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Affirmation – Jesus has given me the authority to use his name and I will do it. And that which I bind on earth is bound in heaven. And that which I loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Therefore, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I bind the principalities, the powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world. I also bind and cast down spiritual wickedness in high places and I render them all harmless and ineffective against me, in the name of Jesus. Help me O Lord to overcome the evil in this world.

Wednesday Bible Affirmations

I write my Bible affirmations down on 4″ X 6″ index cards. I first write the Bible verse in black ink and underneath it I write my affirmation in red ink. When I recently finished updating my Bible affirmations I wound up with a stack of around fifty index cards. This was way too much to speak every day so I made five random stacks of affirmations, one for each day of the week, Monday through Friday. I left weekends free. I wound up with 10-15 affirmations per day, which is about all I can handle comfortably on a daily basis. I just updated them again this week. I try to pray all my Bible affirmations early in the morning because when I rejoice in the Lord my God and his saving grace that early in the day the joy of the Lord buoys me up the entire day. Speaking Bible affirmations every day is the best way I’ve found to keep my eyes on the Lord and my faith in God stoked. The human mind believes and acts upon what it hears over and over. That’s how our mind works. So when we say Bible affirmations repeatedly it helps train our mind and empowers our inner “spirit man” so that our outer “physical man” can be brought into submission to God’s will. Look, God wants to guide your life so let him do it if you want the best life possible. I firmly believe many of the mistakes that believers make in their lives can be avoided if they spoke Bible affirmations daily and they start as soon as they’re saved. Praise God!

Bible affirmation aren’t just vain repetitions. They are structured prayers that are meant to affirm the verse or verses you are quoting from the Bible. To a degree affirmations are also spontaneous because you create them out of your love for God and they will keep changing and evolving as you continue to grow in Christ during your walk with God. Your Bible affirmations are meant to be very personal to you because they reveal your plans, your hopes, and your dreams in service to God. Your Bible affirmations reveal who you are and what you’re about. Now, I don’t mind sharing my Bible affirmations with you because the Holy Spirit has given me the ministry of reconciliation through studying God’s word and giving my testimony about God.

My Bible affirmations are just a part of that testimony about God. I have always made it clear in my blog that my singular focus in life going forward is to urge people to study the Bible in depth so that they can witness for Christ more effectively and save one more for Jesus every day. My personal goal is to save at least 1000 lost souls for the kingdom of God during my lifetime and I’m not ashamed to declare it. I can’t save everyone but I can save some. Please don’t sell yourself short when it comes to witnessing for Christ. God will help you. Plan your work for the Lord and then work that plan every day of your life, while you are continually praying to God for his help. Shoot for the stars and let Jesus Christ sort it out on the last day! Our ultimate goal is to hear Jesus say, “Well done good and faithful servant!” We can achieve that only through our persistent effort and our obedience to God.

Verses – Psalm 1:1-3 – Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Isaiah 54:17 – No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from Me says the Lord.

Affirmation – No weapon formed against me shall prosper, for my righteousness is of the Lord. But whatever I do will prosper for I’m like a tree that’s planted by the rivers of water. I delight in the word of God and I will meditate on it day and night.

Verse – Ephesians 1:17-18 – That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.

Affirmation – In the name of Jesus I pray that my body be made worthy to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. I will not overeat so that this body becomes overweight. I will eat mostly nutritious food and I’ll exercise regularly in order to have a healthy body I’m not ashamed of. I will glorify God for indwelling this vessel and I pray that the Lord will use this body for his pleasure. I rejoice in the Lord my God. My joy in the Lord is complete.

Philippians 4:7-8 – And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.

Affirmation – The peace of God which supasses all understanding keeps my heart and mind through Christ Jesus. And all things which are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report, I think on these things.

Verses – John 16:13 – (Jesus) – However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on his own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Affirmation – I will not let the word of God depart from before my eyes for it is life to me for I have found it and it is health and healing to all my flesh.

Verse – Colossians 3:15 – And let the peace of God rule your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

1 Corinthians 12:27 – Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

Romans 8:2 – For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Affirmation – I am the body of Christ and Satan has no power over me. For I overcome evil with good. I am free from the law of sin and death.

Verse – Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to death.

Affirmation – I am an overcomer and I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony.

Verse – Psalm 119:89 – Forever O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

Affirmation – The word of God is forever settled in heaven. Therefore, I establish his word upon this earth. O Lord, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Tuesday Bible Affirmations

Don’t let the word “affirmation” throw you. Affirmations are prayers to God that confirm the truth of God. There are several types of prayers that believers can make to God, one of which is the seldom used prayer of rejoicing. Affirmations are prayers of rejoicing. The word “rejoice” means to feel or show great joy. Bible affirmations are tailor-made to express our great joy in the Lord for our salvation. Bible affirmations also are not new. They have been used for centuries by many of the giants of the Christian faith. I started using Bible affirmations a few years ago after I read a book titled, “The Tongue – A creative Force” by the late pastor and Christian author Charles Capps. I copied down on index cards the daily Bible affirmations pastor Capps used to worship God and I used them myself for years. However, last year I decided to make my own Bible affirmations. If you’re in fellowship with God through daily prayer and studying God’s word the process is really quite easy. Take a commandment of God that has a special meaning for you and then speak it back to God in prayer. When you speak God’s word back to him in prayer God is glorified when his words are heard by the host of heaven and all the fallen angels (demons) on earth. Then you need to turn God’s commandment into a personal statement of faith and declare your obedience to God for all to hear. Let God be glorified! Let God be magnified! Be joyful and rejoice in the Lord! King David danced before God out of joy and the Lord said David was a man after his own heart. It’s a good example for us to follow.

Tuesday:

Verse – Matthew 13:23 – (Jesus) – But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Affirmation – I will produce good fruit by my witness for Christ. I will spread the gospel seed, the good news of God’s saving grace, to nonbelievers so that they will believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. I will leverage my testimony of the Lord by sharing the gospel in writing through my blog and my tract ministry in order to save one hundred lost souls for the kingdom of God; and then ten times one hundred.

Verse – Matthew 9:37-38 – (Jesus) – The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Affirmation – I bless God for allowing me to participate in his salvation plan for man. I will work beside the Lord my God in his harvest field sharing the gospel of Christ in order to save one more for Jesus every day for as long as I live. I pray for more workers in God’s harvest field because the need is great and the workers are few. I will continually worship God with the praise of my lips and give my testimony of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. God is good and God is great and this my spirit knows very well.

Verse – Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Affirmation – I will not fear anything because the Lord is my God. I will not be dismayed because I belong to the Most High. I am strengthened and helped by the Lord in everything I do. The righteous right hand of Almighty God will uphold me all the days of my life as I witness for Christ. Jesus is Lord! I rejoice in the Lord, who is my joy and my strength.

Verse – Daniel 12:3 – And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Affirmation – I will be wise before the Lord through obedience to the commandments of God. I will fulfill the Great Commission I received from Jesus Christ, which is to spread the gospel message, the good news of God’s saving grace. I will continually give my testimony of Christ all my life in order to save many to the kingdom of heaven.

Verses – Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Affirmation – Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Therefore, I forbid any sickness or disease to come upon this body. Every disease germ and every virus that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus. Every organ and every tissue of this body functions in the perfection to which God created it to function, and I forbid any malfunction in this body, in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord for loving me and saving me.

Verse – 1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Affirmation – I will continually do the work God has given me to do, which is to spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ to all nations and all people. I will be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. I will save many lost souls for the kingdom of God. My work will not be in vain because Jesus Christ will reward me on the last day. I bless the Lord my God for his love, mercy, and grace toward a sinner like me.

Verse – Philippians 4:19 – And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Affirmation – My Lord supplies all of my need and I lack for nothing. The Lord makes all grace abound toward me so that I have everything I need to do the work that God has given me to do.

Verse – Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Affirmation – I will abide in the word of God in order to light the path in front of me as I run my race for the Lord; witnessing for Christ with all endurance.

Monday Bible Affirmations

In the dictionary the word “affirm” means to state something firmly or publicly. So an affirmation is the act of verbally saying something firmly or publicly. In this instance the something is verses from the Bible and my obedience to them. Use your voice to speak God’s words after him because it glorifies God and God will glorify you in return. It’s a win-win situation. Reading the Bible also glorifies God but speaking God’s word publicly will magnify the glory received by God and man. I speak my affirmations to God at my desk each morning but they are also heard publicly because they are heard not only by God but also by the angels in heaven, the demons on this earth and by Satan himself. I offer my prayers of worship to God through my Bible affirmations and the evil one hates it when I do that. God refers to his word as the commandment (singular). That means every verse, every positive statement in the Bible is a commandment from God. In my affirmations I start off by stating God’s commandment and then I follow up with a personal statement of faith in God and my pledge to be obedient to that particular commandment of God.

MONDAY:

Verse – Psalm 37:4 – Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Affirmation – I delight myself in the Lord and he gives me the desires of my heart. I will work diligently in God’s harvest field to help save many lost souls for the kingdom of God as long as I can, even forty years like God’s prophets of old; or until Jesus Christ comes in the air to rapture his saints. I desire to stand before the bema judgment seat of Jesus Christ on the last day and hear him say, “well done good and faithful servant.” Help me Lord to save many nonbelievers for the kingdom of God.

Verse – Mark 16:15-16 – (Jesus) – Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Affirmation – I will share the gospel message of Christ, the good news, with all nations and all people as long as I am able. I will give my testimony of Jesus Christ one on one as the opportunity arises. I will witness for Christ passively through my two Christian blog sites and also by distributing Christian tracts containing the gospel message, in order to reach nonbelievers who desperately need God’s saving grace. Lord help me to witness more effectively. Bless me in all things Lord, as I bless you.

Verse – Colossians 1:10-11 – That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with you.

Affirmation – I am increasing in the knowledge of God through Bible study and prayer. I am strengthened with all might according to His glorious power. I am pleasing to the Lord because I am obedient to the commandments of God. I am fulfilling the Great Commission which Jesus gave to his disciples, which is to share the gospel of Christ with all nations and all people. I am fruitful in every good work I do for the Lord. Lord help me to be fruitful.

Verse – 2 Corinthians 5:18 – Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

Affirmation – I am reconciled to God because Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. The Holy Spirit has given me the ministry of reconciliation by studying God’s word and spreading the gospel seed of Christ passively through my Christian blog and Christian tract ministry in order to save one more for Jesus every day on my walk with the Lord. I ask the Holy Spirit to convict the nonbeliever of their sins through the gospel seed I have spread.

Verse – Hebrews 12:1 – Let us lay aside every weight, and sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

Affirmation – I will lay aside every weight and sin so that I can do the work that God has given me to do during my race before the Lord. I will share the gospel message of Christ with all endurance, even forty years, if there is time and God is willing. I will save one more for Jesus every day by my testimony. I bless you Lord for my provision.

Verse – Romans 12:1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Affirmation – God has given me my body, this tent, this temple of the Holy Spirit. I present my body back to the God who made me as my reasonable service to do good works before the Lord in his harvest field in obedience to the commandments of God. The number one good work I do for God is witnessing for Christ and I will do it all the days of my life; even forty years if there is time before the rapture comes and God is willing. Holy God, help me to save one more for Jesus every day.

Verse – Matthew 6:19-20 – (Jesus) – Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Affirmation – I will lay up treasures in heaven by saving nonbelievers to the kingdom of God through my witness for Christ. I will save one more for Jesus every day as I strive to fulfill the Great Commission of God, which is to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with all nations and all people. Lord of heaven and earth, help me in my witness for Christ so that I may save one more for Jesus every day gain treasures in heaven, which you will give me on the last day.

Verses – Proverbs 14:25 – A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Affirmation – I will bless the Lord daily for allowing me to help save nonbelievers. With the help of Almighty God I will deliver lost souls to the kingdom of heaven through my true witness for Jesus Christ. I will be wise in the eyes of the Lord by winning souls for God. As the righteousness of Christ I will produce much fruit for heaven all the days of my life. May the Lord grant me forty years in his service or until Jesus comes in the air for his saints.

Verse – 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Affirmation – I will sow the gospel seed of Christ’s salvation bountifully all the days of my life so that on the last day I will also reap bountifully. I will cheerfully give to those in need from my abundance provided to me from God. Almighty God. Make all grace abound toward me so that I can sow the gospel seed bountifully. Let God be magnified always, even forever! The Lord is the joy of my life. I rejoice in the Lord!

Wrong Thinking (#6 and last)

It’s wrong thinking to think God doesn’t love us. We are all creatures made by the fingers of God. We are God’s masterpiece of creation and throughout the entire Bible God repeatedly confirms his love for us. In fact, the Bible is often called God’s love letter to man. Satan is the god of this world and you must remember that he can and does put negative thoughts in our mind all the time. If you’re spiritually aware you can often differentiate between your thoughts, God’s thoughts, and Satan’s thoughts. One of Satan’s strategies is to separate us from the love of God by constantly telling us God didn’t make us and God couldn’t possible love someone like us, a mere sin-filled human being. Nothing could be further from the truth. God dearly loves every creature he has made.

We are all children of God and the Bible makes it clear God wants all his creatures in heaven with him. But God isn’t going to force us to go to heaven. Every person has the free will choice whether to serve God or Satan. The love God has for us is incomprehensible to Satan, who loves no one and hates everything. The Bible confirms God is love and we know Satan is the direct opposite of God in all things so that means Satan is hate. Satan hates man most of all because he knows we’re special to God. Satan would destroy all human beings if given the opportunity. However, God protects us from the evil one. God allows Satan and his demons to attack our minds but they aren’t allowed to harm us physically. Those are God’s rules.

John 3:16 – (Jesus) – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 14:21 – (Jesus) – He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

Romans 8:38-39 – For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 7:25 – Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Romans 8:30 – Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified, these He also glorified.

It’s wrong thinking to think God will stop loving us because we sin. God never stops loving all the sinful nonbelievers who are going to hell so what makes you think God will stop loving you, a believer, just because you sin? Would you stop loving your child just because they did something wrong? No you wouldn’t, because your child was made by you. Your child is a part of you and your love is an unconditional love. The love of God is a thousand times greater than our love. In fact, the love of God is so profound that man cannot fathom the depth of God’s love this side of heaven. Look, God made us so he’s well aware how weak we are and he has compassion for us. God knew before we were even born that every man is going to sin again him and to what degree. That includes all nonbelievers as well as all believers. God knew all men would sin before he laid the foundation of the world yet it didn’t stop God from going ahead and making us anyway. So it’s ludicrous to think God would suddenly stop loving us because we did something (sin) that God knew we were going to do before he made us. If that were the case God wouldn’t have gone to the trouble to make us in the first place. God is ever faithful and his love is constant. God never made any person with the express purpose of sending them to hell. God’s mind doesn’t work that way. God made us for fellowship in heaven forever and he loves us in spite of the sins he knew we were going to commit and he forgives us of our sins if we ask him. Can’t you see that?

James 5:15 – And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

1 John 2:1 – My little children, these things I write to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Psalm 14:3 – They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 – For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.

If Satan can convince the nonbeliever that God doesn’t love him it’s much easier for him to steal their you soul. If you’re a believer Satan wants to make you think you can lose the love of God in order to make you an ineffective Christian; someone who can’t spread the gospel message of God’s saving grace. Satan wants to convince you that you are not worthy of God’s love and that God couldn’t possibly love someone like you because of your sin. Satan knows nothing about God’s love so why would you listen to him? Look, if your faith in your own salvation isn’t rock solid your witness for Christ won’t be worth a darn. You must have a passion for God when you witness for Christ because a nonbeliever can always tell whether or not you’re passionate about serving the Lord. If you don’t have a palpable passion for God the nonbeliever will tune you out before you even get to the gospel message of Christ. Just accept the fact that we live in a fallen world and we’re all going to sin and pay no attention to Satan’s lies. As believers we are to try to our best to sin less and less every day as we live out our lives, while asking God in daily prayer to forgive us of our sins.

John 10:28 – (Jesus) – And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Romans 11:29 – For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

1 Corinthians 2:14 – But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

It’s wrong thinking to think you’re not saved just because you don’t feel like you’re saved. Fellings have nothing to do with it. The Bible confirms if you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you’re saved. End of discussion. Every person has an eternal spirit given to them at conception by God. You can’t see your invisible spirit. Your spirit has no weight and you can’t feel it yet that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. The physical man cannot discern spiritual things easily so we have to rely on the word of God to know what’s going on in the spiritual world. The Bible says we must live by faith and not by sight so start doing it. When we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior God gives us a brand new spirit because our old spirit contained the sin of Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden. We can’t feel that happening in our body yet it’s true. We need to look at salvation from God’s perspective. Salvation is not about us and what we deserve because, quite frankly, we deserve to suffer eternal death for our sins against God. Our salvation is ultimately about God and the love and mercy he feels toward us, his special creation.

Ephesians 1:13 – In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

Ephesians 4:30 – And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 – Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

John 14:16 – (Jesus) – And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.

At the moment of our salvation the Holy Spirit also takes up residence in our bodies forevermore as an earnest deposit from God until we are redeemed by the Lord on the last day. The Holy Spirit can only indwell someone who is saved because God cannot abide sin. Only a vessel cleansed of sin by God is fit for the Master’s use. If someone were to lose their salvation by the introduction of sin back into their spirit that would mean the Holy Spirit gets kicked out of the body like an unwanted squatter. Does that sound possible to you? It doesn’t to me. The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee that we are saved and the Holy Spirit never leaves a believer’s living body once indwelling occurs. We can’t feel the Holy Spirit living inside us but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. I know this to be true spiritually because I’ve studied the word of God for over twenty years. You’re saved unto eternal life in heaven through faith because God says you are if you’ve given your life to Jesus. It makes no difference how you feel. What’s important is what God says in his word because God cannot lie. You can’t physically feel something that is happening spiritually so get a grip and trust what God says. If you’re a believer and you don’t think you’re saved after praying the sinner’s prayer to God then you’re calling God a liar to his face. You’re mocking God and you’ll be held accountable on the last day when you stand before Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 13:5 – I will never leave you nor forsake you.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

John 4:24 – (Jesus) – God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 3:6 – (Jesus) – That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 7:38 – (Jesus) – He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

I’m also one of the few believers that God has blessed with the physical knowledge that the Holy Spirit is inside me. Years ago in New Orleans when I was still working I physically felt the Holy Spirit move inside my body. In my hotel room I felt something solid in the pit of my stomach and I felt it move up through my chest and come out my neck as I automatically bent forward as though I was going to throw up. It was firm but invisible. It scared the hell out of me at the time because I didn’t know what had happened. It wasn’t until several years later after I’d begun to study the Bible in earnest that I realized it was the Holy Spirit I felt that day in New Orleans and he was making me aware of his presence. I was saved at the age of twelve so why was God suddenly making me aware that he is with me after all that time? I had no answer that made sense to me. Several years after this I received my ministry of reconciliation from the Holy Spirit, which is to study God’s word and give my testimony of God through the written word. My bones were on fire for the Lord, therefore I had to witness for Christ. I had an unquenchable thirst for God’s word and still do. I will abide in God’s word forever and I suggest you do the same if you want to please God.

Jeremiah 20:9 – Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.

Psalm 42:1 – As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.

Psalm 63:1 – O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.

Psalm 143:6 – I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You like a thirsty land.

Psalm 84:2 – My soul longs for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

My study of God’s word started out with writing letters to my family and friends and eventually it evolved into www.onemoreforjesus.net; my Christian blog site whereby I spread the gospel seed in writing. I also witness for Christ “passively” by distributing gospel tracts through my prison ministry, www.christiantractministry.com. All believers are commanded by God to witness for Christ to all nations and all people and this is how I obey God; by spreading the gospel seed through the written word. God manifested himself to me physically as the indwelt Holy Spirit that day in New Orleans so that I could one day give my testimony about the Lord in my blog, which I am doing now, and which I have also done on numerous occasions in the past. This is my testimony about the God who made me.

Psalm 45:1 – My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

1 John 5:13 – These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

1 John 2:25 – And this is the promise thet He has promised us – eternal life.

John 8:47 – (Jesus) – He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.

Luke 11:23 – (Jesus) – He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

The last thing I want to address in this blog is those believers who think they can somehow lose their salvation because of their sin. It’s wrong thinking to think that a believer can lose their salvation once it’s freely given to them by God. Can God make a mistake? No. Can God change his mind? No. If it were possible for a believer to lose his salvation through sin God would have told us in his word. I find no mention of that in the Bible but I have found numerous scriptures that confirm our salvation is forever. You have to remember God knows the end from the beginning so he already knows every event that’ll take place in his creation including every moment of your life. God already knows every sin you’ll ever commit so if he chooses to go ahead and make you and then save you God won’t later renege on his promise of salvation. That is a lie from Satan so dismiss it. God know your heart so if he saves you are saved forever. The calling of God in irrevocable. To prove it God indwells the believer with his Holy Spirit as an earnest deposit which ensures he’ll redeem us on the last day. Satan preys on our minds and one of his greatest lies is you’ll lose your salvation if you sin. If that were the case there wouldn’t be any saints in heaven because all believers sin and we’ll continue to do so even after we’re saved. God knows we’re dust, we’re weak, and we’ll continue to sin because we live in a sin-filled world as we walk this earth in our physical bodies which are also full of sin. It’s just a part of the human condition as long as Satan is the god of this world. If a believer grieves the Holy Spirit through sin God has the option of bringing him home early and they may lose their reward.

John 6:40 – (Jesus) – And this is the will of Him whom sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son of God and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:47 – (Jesus) – Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

1 John 5:11 – And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

John 5:24 – (Jesus) – Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My words and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Romans 5:1 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is not a liar and God will not be mocked! The Bible makes it abundantly clear that salvation once given will last for all eternity. Jesus Christ, the son of God, came off his throne in heaven, took on flesh, and died on the cross in our place so that our sins could be forgiven by a loving and merciful God so that we can have eternal life in heaven. So if you think your salvation can be lost are you telling me that Jesus died in vain? God forbid! If you suddenly become unsaved because of sin how much sin would that entail because we all sin to one degree or another? If you decide you want to be saved again does that mean Jesus must shed his blood for you a second time, and so on? Are you saying the blood of Christ wasn’t sufficient to save you completely the first time? At the moment of salvation scripture tells us it’s the Holy spirit that actually changes our eternal destination from hell to heaven. It’s the Holy Spirit that writes the new believer’s name in God’s book of life. So you think when you become unsaved the Holy Spirit has to go back to the book of life and put a line through your name and then correct the mistake he made by marking you down for heaven. And you figured all this out by yourself without any mention of it in the Bible. That is rich! You’ve fallen into Satan’s trap! If you follow this line of thinking you’re a fool. If you mock God and call him a liar to his face you’ll be held accountable on the last day when you stand before Jesus Christ at the bema judgment seat. Don’t fall for Satan’s lies. Once you’re saved you’re always saved. I’m a Baptist and this is what my church believes and what I believe. Other Christian denominations think differently as noted below:

Arguments and Perspectives on Salvation:

Methodists – Methodists state that a believer can lose their salvation through intentional rejection of faith, but it can be regained through repentance.

Pentecostals – Pentecostals think that salvation can be lost through willful sin or turning away from faith.

Catholics – Catholics believe that salvation can be forfeited through grave sin, but confession and penance offer the opportunity for reconciliation.

Baptists – Baptists believe that once saved, always saved; stressing the security of the believer’s salvation.

All denominations need to be careful not to establish church doctrine based on the reading of one or two vague Bible verses. When you interpret scripture that is not very clear look at the surrounding scriptures for clarification. Consider the context in which the scriptures were written and who was the intended target of the book or verses. Scripture is best interpreted by other scripture. If something is important to God he’ll repeat the verse or verses multiple times in his word which gives you an opportunity to clarify its meaning. All I know is the Bible contains dozens of scriptures that clearly confirm salvation is irrevocable. There are no mistakes in the Bible and God cannot lie. I urge all people of God and all church denominations to study God’s word so they can be assured of their salvation. Assurance of our salvation is one of God’s greatest gifts to man. When we have peace with God it allows us to have the peace of God in our hearts. We don’t have that unless we know our salvation is secure. How can you have the peace of God in your heart and effectively witness for Christ if you aren’t rock solid in the belief of your own salvation? You simply can’t witness effectively for Christ if you think your salvation could be taken from you at any moment. To me this in one of Satan’s greatest lies. The Bible confirms that Satan cannot snatch us out of God’s hand once we’re saved so believe God. Rest easy in the love and peace of God.

Wrong Thinking (#5)

Every morning I get up between 3:00 am and 4:00 am and for the next couple of hours or so I slowly drink a pot of coffee to wake up and get going for the day. I’m a morning person so I’m at my desk early. This is my favorite time of the day because I have time to meditate on the magnitude and majesty of Almighty God. I have a vivid imagination but whatever I think it’ll be like in heaven I know it won’t even scratch the surface of the wonders God has in store for us. Why do I think this? Because God says our minds cannot comprehend the riches and glory that await us in heaven. It’s during this quiet time with God that I usually come up with the topics for my blogs: things that I think nonbelievers and believers alike should know about heaven, God, and our place in the grand scheme of things. If I happen to be working on a new blog I’ll first do a draft online before I edit it, publish it and print it. I use my hard copy so I can reread it in order to tweak it some more until I’m happy with it.

1 Corinthians 2:9 – Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

Romans 11:33 – Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

Romans 11:29 – For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

1 Corinthians 2:14 – But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Scriptural references are important and I add many of them after posting the blog. All believers should memorize the scriptures so they get ingrained in your spirit. I keep my scriptures in three index boxes labeled New Testament, Old Testament, and The Gospels for easy retrieval. If I have a verse in my head but I can’t remember where it’s located in the Bible I can do an internet search if I know the gist of the scripture or I can go to my Strong’s Concordance as long as I know at least one word in the verse. I can usually find what I’m looking for. I usually reread my blog multiple times when I’m done and I keep editing it as I go along until I feel satisfied with the finished product. I usually make a dozen or so minor edits before I reach that point and some blogs take me a week to complete. On the other hand, some blogs only take a couple of hours. It just depends on the topic and the depth of analysis. I’m not an English major. I don’t care so much about syntax and minor errors as I do about getting my point across clearly. I try to remove all the obvious errors I find but I don’t fret over every misspelled word or wrong punctuation mark.

2 Corinthians 5:21 – For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 5:12 – Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Hebrews 9:27 – And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.

I’m currently working on my “wrong thinking” blog series. I just finished with my blog titled Wrong Thinking (#4) and this morning I was considering what to include in Wrong Thinking (#5). I was thinking about how believers build up treasure in heaven by the “work” they do for God here on earth. It suddenly dawned on me I’ve been engaged in “wrong thinking” on this topic for a long time. In the past I’ve stated that believers who don’t save at least one lost soul to the kingdom of God by their witness for Christ will have all their good works burn up before the Lord on the last day as they stand before the bema judgment seat of Jesus Christ. I’ve had an epiphany. In my opinion on heavenly rewards I’m being too harsh. Don’t get me wrong. I still believe all believers should dedicate their lives to witnessing for Christ in order to save as many nonbelievers to heaven as possible. I still believe that anyone who saves at least one person for heaven will receive treasures in heaven equal to the level of precious stones. Anyone who saves one hundred people for heaven will reach the silver reward level and those who save a thousand or more people for heaven will reach the gold reward level. I don’t know what heavenly rank, privileges or rewards go with each reward level in heaven but I do know it’ll be good because God is generous and God doesn’t give away junk. The scriptures say the mind of man cannot comprehend the riches of God. I’ll take God’s word for it. As I live my life on earth in obedience to the commandments of God my mind is always on the wonders that await me in heaven.

Colossians 3:2 – Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Corinthians 3:14-15 – If anyone’s work which he has built on it (Jesus) endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss (of rewards); but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

1 Corinthians 1:18 – For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 3:12-13 – Now if anyone builds on this foundation (of Jesus Christ) with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the day will declare it; because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.

Ninety percent of the believers in heaven will be there by faith in Jesus Christ alone, never having saved even one other person to the kingdom of heaven by their witness for Christ. That is so sad! It’s wrong thinking for believers to think they don’t have to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with all nations and all people. Don’t leave it to other people. Don’t leave it to the church. Jesus gave the Great Commission to his disciples on the Mount of Olives before he ascended back to heaven. As believers we’re also disciples of Christ just like the original twelve and God’s number one commandment to witness for Christ also falls on us as believers. Right thinking is being obedient to God. If my original premise was correct that means 90% of the saints in heaven will wind up with no treasure in heaven. On reflection, it’s hard to image 90% of the saints in heaven walking around without any treasure. God is much too generous to let that happen. My singular goal is witnessing for Christ but to his glory God rewards all good works. Scripture says God is also generous to a fault so we can be sure God will give all the saints in heaven treasure for every good work, whether they save someone or not. Your money belongs to God so use it for his glory.

Mark 16:15 – (Jesus) – Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

2 Timothy 4:1-2 – I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Acts 10:42 – And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead.

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile).

With the possible exception of the thief on the cross and some of those being saved on their deathbed, I think just about any believer will have time to accrue treasures in heaven based on at least some good works they do on earth, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem at the time. On the other hand, believers can also build up unforgiven sin during their lifetime which will reduce their treasures in heaven. In God’s economy there are always offsetting forces working against each other like good and evil, reward and punishment, etc. I think doing good works before the Lord adds credits to our heavenly bank account. Unforgiven sins committed against God are debits to our heavenly bank account. The treasures we receive from Jesus Christ on the last day will be our credits minus our debits. The goal of every believer should be save as many people to heaven as possible and then to maximize the heavenly credits by other good works and limit the sins that cause heavenly debits. That way our treasure in heaven will be the greatest it can possibly be. Saving souls for heaven will lead to exponentially greater rewards in heaven than simply doing other good works. Your treasure in heaven depends on how many people you save (i.e., precious stones, silver, and gold) by your witness for Christ plus any other good works you do for God. A believer can never lose their treasure for saving a lost soul for the kingdom of heaven.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 4:8 – Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.

Romans 12:1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Titus 2:7 – In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility.

In the Bible God talks about believers before the bema judgment seat of Jesus Christ who have all their works burned up so all they have left is their birthday suit. This happens when the believer has more debits (sins) than he does credits (good works). I can’t stress enough that every good work we do and every sin we commit in this life will be noted by God and we will be held accountable, whether good or bad. The one exception is if believers ask God to forgive their sins. When that happens the sins of man are remembered no more. When believers are saved unto eternal life they receive a new spirit from God that is without sin and our past sins are forgiven. We have a clean slate but it doesn’t stay that way. We are stuck with our physical bodies until we die or we’re raptured to Jesus in the air to receive our glorified bodies that are without sin. Salvation was an instantaneous one time event and since we’re all still sinners after our salvation we start to accrue sins again, day by day, as we live out our lives here on earth.

2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

1 Corinthians 3:7-9 – So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.

Revelation 22:12 – (Jesus) – And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

1 Peter 1:17 – And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear.

However, God gives us a way to get rid of our sins and that is to go to God in prayer and ask for God to forgive our sins. We have God’s promise that our sins will be forgiven. What could be better than that? God cannot lie! It’s wrong thinking to not go to God in prayer to ask him to forgive our sins on a daily basis. That’s just common sense. We can’t keep from sinning. Only God can forgive our sins. Our sins keep building up if we don’t give them to God. If we don’t give our sins to God then we have to pay for them ourselves on the last day. Why on earth would anyone want to pay a huge penalty for their sins when it’s so easy to get rid of them? All you have to do is pray to God and ask him to forgive you of your sins and he’ll do it because God makes that promise to us in his word. Praise God for his mercy!

2 Timothy 2:21 – Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter (sin), he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

Colossians 4:2 – Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.

James 1:22 – But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Matthew 12:36-37 – (Jesus) – But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

So what’s the problem? The problem is there are a lot of Christians who never progress beyond the spiritual milk of God’s word. They don’t pray to God as often as they should and when they do they’re asking for “things” instead of asking for their sins to be forgiven. Can you believe it! Maybe they don’t think they’re worthy of having their sins forgiven. All I know is most believers don’t read their Bibles so they don’t know what they should do to get rid of their accumulated sins before God. Look, I’ve been studying God’s word for over twenty years and I’m still learning new stuff every day. It takes time and it takes effort. I’m a mature Christian but I still sin every day. It’s a part of the human condition. If you’re a believer going about your day and you commit a sin against God and you realize it; stop immediately and ask God for his forgiveness. Before you go to sleep at night pray to God for the forgiveness of any sins you may have committed that day.

Ephesians 5:15-16 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

John 3:27 – A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 – But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.

1 Peter 3:15 – But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

Before your eyes close at night pray to the Lord so you have a clean slate before God; no unforgiven sins on the books should you die in your sleep. God accomplishes his work on earth through godly men so make sure you’re a vessel worthy of the Master’s use. Focus on obeying God to build up treasures in heaven. Most believers understand this but they often forget it’s just as important for us to remove the sins that are also building up and reducing our treasures in heaven. The most successful Christians will be those who maximize their good works and minimize their accumulated sins against God. Prayer is the key to both. As a believer you can have it all. Have it on your mind to do good works all the time. Look for opportunities to do good. Ask God to forgive your sins daily. Continually witness for Christ in order to save lost souls for the kingdom of heaven. The more people you save the greater your rewards will be in heaven. If you do all these things you’ll hear Jesus Christ say to you on the last day, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

2 Corinthians 9:6 – But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

2 Corinthians 8:12 – For if there is first a willing mind, it is acceptable according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.

In summary, it’s wrong thinking to think a believer’s good works are without any merit before God. Every good work before the Lord is recorded and the believer will be rewarded on the last day. God misses nothing and judges everything. It’s wrong thinking to think a believer’s sins won’t come back to haunt them. Every sin committed against God is recorded and the believer will be held accountable on the last day. The only exception is if the believer prays to God and asks for their sins to be forgiven. Prayer is the means God has established to offload the sins of man onto himself so take advantage of it. It’s wrong thinking for a believer to not prioritize witnessing for Christ above all other good works before the Lord.

Romans 4:4 – Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

John 4:36 – (Jesus) – And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Galatians 6:9-10 – And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

The Great Commission from Jesus is for believers to share the gospel message to all nations and all people. It’s the thing dearest to God’s heart. Every creature made by the hands of God is priceless in his eyes. It’s wrong thinking for a believer not to live their life in service to God. As the Apostle Paul said, it’s our reasonable service to the God who made us. In the end, life itself is meaningless apart from a right relationship with God. If you aren’t serving God you’re not living; you’re just existing. The most important thing any believer can do is witness for Christ to save lost souls to the kingdom of heaven. The wages you receive from God for this work will last forever. Think of it as your heavenly rewards pension plan. The more people you save and the more good works you do the greater your pension amount increases. That’s not a bad return for seventy years of work that’ll benefit us forever.

John 15:8 – (Jesus) – By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit.

Luke 10:2 – (Jesus) – The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His field.

Matthew 16:27 – (Jesus) – For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 – So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Titus 3:8 – This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 – Let us hear the conclusion to the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Wrong Thinking (#4)

When I started this blog series on wrong thinking I did it on the fly, writing about the first things that popped into my head without any thought of which wrong thinking is more important than others. So far I’ve used my wrong thinking blogs to illustrate what right thinking is. Right thinking is knowing there is a God in heaven. If you’re an atheist God says you’re a fool and he’s right. Right thinking is knowing there is only one God and Jehovah is his name. It’s just common sense that only one God exists and if you look at the evidence it all points to the Lord Jehovah as God. Right thinking is knowing there are not a lot of different gods in the world and there aren’t many paths to heaven as the humanist world would have you believe. This is just one of the doctrines of Satan and it doesn’t ring true. Right thinking is knowing the only way to heaven is through faith by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Right thinking is knowing the Bible is God’s word and that God cannot lie. Right thinking is knowing that God is not only a loving God but also a just God and everyone won’t be going to heaven because of that. Only believers who have accepted God’s saving grace through faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be allowed into heaven. Their sins have been forgiven by a merciful God because of their faith in Jesus. Right thinking is knowing believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

John 16:33 – (Jesus) – These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Revelation 21:7 – He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

If everyone goes to heaven what’s the point of our lives? If everyone gets a free pass to heaven why even bother with obeying God and living fruitful lives? Why doesn’t God just start us out in heaven and be done with it? Right thinking is knowing the Holy Bible is the inerrant word of God and not just a book. More than 500 fulfilled Bible prophesies can’t be wrong. It shows the Bible is God’s word without any doubt because only God can tell the future. Right thinking is knowing the universe is only 6,000 years old and not billions of years old as the humanist world would have us believe. The former is proven by God’s word while the later is just an unproven doctrine of Satan to hide the truth of God from man. Right thinking is knowing God made Adam and Eve 6,000 years ago, as fully grown adults, when he placed them in the Garden of Eden. This is the only logical explanation that also fits the evidence. And finally, right thinking is knowing man didn’t evolve from one cell organisms over a long period of time. The theory of evolution is just another unproven doctrine of Satan to hide the fact that God created man.

Ezekiel 28:12-13 – You (Satan) were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.

Ezekiel 28:14-16 – You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of the fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you. By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones.

Matthew 4:10 – (Jesus) – Away with you Satan! For it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.

Looking back, I probably should have addressed this next area of wrong thinking at the very beginning because it’s important. It’s wrong thinking to think the devil isn’t real; that he’s just a metaphor for the human condition. If God is real then so is the devil, and so is hell. Nonbelievers don’t believe in either God or Satan. However, about 60% of Christians who embrace God deny there’s a devil because they don’t want to believe a benevolent and loving God would send someone to hell forever. They choose to stick their heads in the sand. I have a hard time understanding their reasoning because if you believe in God how can you not also believe in the Bible being the inerrant word of God? If you believe the Bible is without error how can you then not believe in the devil when he is mentioned throughout the Bible? Satan is mentioned in seven Old Testament books (Genesis, Job, Psalms, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah, and 1 Chronicles). Satan is mentioned in 19 New Testament books and referred to by every New Testament writer. Satan is mentioned by name 23 times in the New Testament, 15 times by Jesus Christ himself and eight times by other saints. How can someone accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and then call him a liar to his face by denying the existence of Satan? The existence of Satan is declared in the Bible so believe it. Grow a backbone! Don’t ever accept the lies of the humanist world!

Isaiah 14:12-14 – How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weaken the nations! For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest side of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.

Isaiah 14:15-17 – Yet you (Satan) shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. Those who see you will gaze at you, and consider you, saying: Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, who made the world a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners?

Ephesians 6:16 – Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Every culture in the world has a universal fear of an invisible evil power and well they should because the devil is real and he means us harm. Most of the world now doubts the evil one is real. Satan works best when his existence is doubted which is why our humanist world puts forth this narrative. Satan controls the world so this is his message for the masses. When Satan is acknowledged he is portrayed as harmless so the evil one has all the bases covered in order to fool mankind, even many believers. Believers who fall for this false narrative are those who are saved but who are still on spiritual milk because they don’t pray regularly to God and they don’t know what the Bible says because they haven’t read it. Believers who don’t abide in God’s word are easily corrupted by the world into doubting God and believing what the world says. Believers who call God a liar are sinning against God, plain and simple. They will suffer loss when they have to stand before the bema judgment seat of Jesus Christ on the last day. The salvation of believers is secure but all believers who sin against God will suffer loss on the last day because of that sin.

1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

2 Corinthians 5:11 – Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

You have my testimony that Satan is indeed a real person and not some figment of our imagination. As a believer I’ve discerned the thoughts of God and Satan inside my head. Not all the time but sometimes. Satan has 22 different names in the Bible. Does that sound to you like someone who doesn’t exist? We all know the Bible story about Lucifer being the most powerful angel in heaven who led a rebellion against God taking with him with one third of the angels in heaven. Lucifer was renamed Satan by God and he and his fallen angels (demons) were defeated and kicked out of heaven and thrown to earth. Satan still has access to the throne of God where he is man’s constant accuser. The word devil means “slanderer.” Jesus Christ sits at God’s right hand to defend us against Satan’s accusations. Jesus is our Mediator. The word Satan means “adversary” ; ours not God’s. God has no equal in power. Satan has a photographic memory. The devil is intelligent, he has a will, he has emotions, and he has great organizational skills, otherwise he would not have been able to convince a third of the angels in heaven to follow him. I’m always amazed Satan was able to do that. Don’t underestimate the son of perdition. Stay close to God. Satan is the second most powerful being in the universe. Stay far away from Satan because he wants to steal your soul.

2 Corinthians 4:4 – Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Ephesians 4:26-27 – Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

1 John 4:4 – You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater that he who is in the world.

We’re in luck because God is more powerful that Satan, much more powerful. God is omnipotent and Satan is not. It’s like an ant versus an elephant. God is the creator and Satan is the created. Satan hates that because he wants to be God so badly. His pride was his downfall. God is omnipresent and Satan isn’t. God is everywhere at the same time so God sees everything and knows everything that’s going on. Satan can only be in one place at a time. God is omniscient so he even knows our thoughts and emotions. Satan can’t read our minds but he can hear and act on what we say so guard your lips. When we say Satan oppresses us mentally what we really mean is it’s probably one of the millions of demons who are obeying the devil and advancing Satan’s agenda by attacking the mind of man. The demons from the spiritual world are always watching us and listening to what we say, looking for an opening to cause us to harm ourselves and others when under duress.

1 John 3:8 – He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Romans 7:18 – For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present in me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.

Hebrews 10:31 – It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

We’re constantly being observed from the spirit world. Not all day or even every day. But we never know when we’re being observed from the spirit world so we need to be careful in everything we do. God, of course, is always watching us to protect us as well as judge what we do. God can tell the future because he’s the author of history. Satan can’t tell the future which is why no prophecies have been fulfilled by any of the fake religions and false gods he’s sponsored throughout history. Satan has read the Bible so he knows his fate. He just doesn’t believe it will happen as written. If you’re a nonbeliever reading this blog you’re in Satan’s hip pocket whether you know it or not. Your fate is sealed. You’re going to hell when you die unless you do something about it; like finding God and accepting his saving grace through faith in Jesus Christ before it’s too late. It’s wrong thinking to think Satan isn’t a real person. Satan is an invisible spirit being who hates our guts. It’s wrong thinking to think Satan isn’t hunting us like a hungry lion stalking its prey. It’s wrong thinking to think Satan isn’t the ruler of hell as well as a murderer and a psychopathic killer. Satan is the king of death and the death of many billions of people is on his hands. The only way to correct your wrong thinking about the devil is by studying the word of God so you’ll know what you’re up against and what you must do to protect yourself from Satan’s attacks.

Isaiah 5:20-21 – Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Luke 10:18 – (Jesus) – I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Hebrews 2:14 – Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself (Jesus) likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had power of death, that is, the devil.

Nonbelievers have no chance against the power of Satan. Satan has put blinders over the eyes of nonbelievers so they can’t see the truth of God. Nonbelievers are putty in Satan’s hands because they don’t have God’s protection because they aren’t children of God. Believers, on the other hand, have no such excuse and they should know better than to fall for Satan’s lies. Believers know God is a loving God. Some believers just have a hard time understanding that God is also a just God. God is not some gentle old grandfather figure who is here just for our pleasure; dispensing goodies like a slot machine; giving out all good and no bad. Our Lord is a God of fire and wrath who will judge the nations and man on the last day. God is love but he’s also a God of wrath and man gets to choose which God they want to receive. The devil is not benign. If given the chance Satan and his demons would destroy every man, woman and child on the planet within thirty days. I thank the Lord that he won’t allow it. I’m horrified that our humanist world still doesn’t get it. They have started coming out with television shows and movies that portray Satan as harmless; as someone who is misunderstood and someone we shouldn’t be afraid of. That is just wrong thinking! Satan is the god of this world so I can’t say I’m totally surprised by this turn of events. The Bible says when we start calling good evil and evil good we know we’re in the end times. I think we’re there. We’re following God’s timeline perfectly. What do you think?

James 4:7 – Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Ephesians 2:1-2 – And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.

It’s wrong thinking to think Satan will be victorious over God and man. Jesus Christ has already defeated the devil by his death on the cross followed by his resurrection three days later. Victory is already ours so we need to claim it and profess it every day. Satan can’t touch a believer without God’s permission. It’s wrong thinking to think Satan doesn’t put evil thoughts into our minds. We have our own thoughts as well as the occasional thoughts from God and Satan. We have to guard our minds against Satan. We have to know our own thoughts first and then we have to discern whether additional thoughts are from God or Satan. This takes spiritual discernment but basically any good thoughts are from God and any bad thoughts are from the evil one. Immediately discard any evil thoughts that come your way because you know the source. It bears repeating; Satan means to destroy us! Be on your guard at all times! One of the spiritual truths of heaven is that a good tree can produce only good fruit and a bad tree can only produce bad fruit. That pertains to God, Satan and man. Believers are to produce good fruit for the kingdom of heaven by their witness for Christ in order to save lost souls. God commands believers to work in his harvest field. The daily mantra of every believer should be to save, “one more for Jesus.”

1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

John 8:44 – (Jesus) – You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Ephesians 6:17 – And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

It’s not a question of if Satan will attack our minds, but when and how often. As believers we first have to believe Satan is real. That’s half the battle. As believers we must know Satan’s attack is coming and then we have to be ready when Satan does attack. The armor of God is contained in the Bible and it’s the only weapon we need to stand firm against the devil and defeat him. God is our bodyguard and Satan stands no chance of defeating God. Stay in fellowship with God and be safe. I like to watch videos of the interaction of wild animals in Africa. Often it’s a pride of lions or a pack of wild dogs attempting to catch a baby for dinner. In most instances the baby will cling close to its mother for protection and the attackers don’t want to face the power of the mother so they circle trying to separate mother and baby. If the baby strays too far away from the mother they’re snatched away. If they stay close to mom they usually stay safe. In this analogy man is the baby, God is the mother, and Satan is the predator trying to snatch us away. Now you know what you have to do to stay safe from the evil one. Study God’s word, pray often, and obey the commandments of God in order to stay close to God for safety. This is my testimony.

John 10:28 – (Jesus) – And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

1 John 5:19 – We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Ephesians 6:12 – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Revelation 20:1-3 – Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

Revelation 20:10 – The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
